The Role:
Our client, a leading Oil & Gas operator, is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join the team on a 6 month contract, based in their Perth office. Key responsibilities may include:

* Execution of campaign based care and maintenance activities.
* Planning and execution of the Onshore Decommissioning and Remediation & Rehabilitation packages (~$200MM scope).
* Develop overarching strategy for Onshore Decommissioning and Remediation & Rehabilitation packages.
* Lead contracting for Onshore Decommissioning and Remediation & Rehabilitation packages.
* Manage interface with contractors during planning and execution phase and ensure adherence to project, Company and regulatory requirements.
* Ensure all wastes generated during execution are recycled / disposed of in accordance with Company Third Party Waste Stewardship requirements and associated logistics are optimised.
* Ensure all relevant regulatory approvals are attained in co-ordination with project approvals specialist and operationalise regulatory commitments register to assure project compliance.
* Ensure all required HES documentation is developed in co-ordination with project HES lead and operationalise HES management system to assure safe operations.
* Manage project cost and schedule in co-ordination with project cost engineer and drive visibility on project cost / schedule performance.
* Monitor project execution risk and formulate and implement mitigation plans as required.
* Demonstrate leadership in support of an incident and injury free workplace.
* Partner with contractors to drive a positive work environment and establish an effective contractor safety culture.
* Ensures project compliance with the Company's Operational Excellence policies, systems, standards and processes as well as relevant Australian Standards and regulatory requirements and commitments.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

* Extensive experience in facility decommissioning.
* Engineering degree or equivalent.
* Fully competent in project engineering and contractor management.
* Environmental remediation and rehabilitation experience highly regarded.
* Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards and regulations highly regarded.
* Strong organisational, interpersonal and communications skills.
* Creative, pragmatic, open-minded thinking and can do attitude are required to facilitate solutions.
