The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Start Up Technician to join a leading, global Oil & Gas company. This company is running some of Australia's largest LNG projects at present and has an active and expanding project portfolio . The main function of a Start Up Technician is to ensure the routine operation of systems, process and/ or utility facilities and equipment on a designated area of the LNG plant.

Main responsibilities include but will not be limited to:
Follow routine procedures and initiate correct methods for developing non routine procedures in area of responsibility.
Responsible for ensuring that procedures are followed to ensure safe operation of the plant. Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with team members and supervisors.
Ensure plant integrity is protected by vigilant monitoring of equipment in line with the commitments made as part of the safety case performance standards.
Ensure guidelines, standing instructions and procedures are understood and adhered to.
Continually monitor and seek to improve the team's performance, suggest where appropriate and implement cost saving to ensure the effective control of the Production budget.
Validate plant routines and procedures and suggest changes to the systems if required.
Liaise with the Production Support Group and advise the discipline team leader of any abnormal or potential failure of equipment that could lead to unsafe conditions.
Demonstrate a reasonable understanding of the principles of gas production, gathering, and processing including an understanding of the chemical and physical behaviour and hazards of gases and fluids.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Oil & Gas Refinery or LNG Plant Experience - 10 years plus

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Tertiary industry qualifications or degree preferable
Computer literate and familiar with the following: MS Office, MS Visio, MS Outlook
Demonstrate methodical and accurate work practices, combined with effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate and interface with company personnel, sub contractors and client representatives.
Proficiency in English (in both written and oral skills).
Familiarisation and knowledge of Aftermarket Activities
Team building skills & understanding diversity
