We are looking for a Geotechnical engineer for working on TOTAL offices in Paris.

Scope Of Work
- To provide general geotechnical advice;
- To select design parameters and apply them to all aspects of foundation design;
- To understand foundation construction methodologies and different foundation type applicability in different ground conditions;
- To be able to control design process in order to produce optimized and fit for purpose results using practical experience of wide range of foundation types and ground conditions;
- To have an appreciation of ground conditions and site constraints and their effect on construction work;
- To interpret data in order to identify and observe geotechnical phenomena;
- To advise on soil-structure interaction using appropriate design tools and obtain relevant information for input;
- To design earthworks;
- To manage testing and controls;
- To adapt general earthworks to specific situations;
- To specify and manage all earthworks and groundwater control;
- To specify and supervise monitoring of geotechnical works;
- To develop appropriate earthworks solutions in un-usual ground conditions;
- To prepare specifications for ground investigations using advanced understanding of ground investigation techniques and laboratory testing;
- To prepare scopes for ground investigation to acquire information required for typical oil and gas civil applications;
- To use practical experience of site investigation including laboratory testing acquired in field operations;
- To adapt test schedules and field operations to suit field observations; - To understand GIS principles and have a working knowledge of GIS tools (eg ArcGIS, Global Mapper etc.);
- To communicate geotechnical and operational issues and inform colleagues and high level decision making process;
- To participate in multi-disciplinary workshops for development planning.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- At least 10 years of experience in Geotechnics;
- Fluency in English & French would be much appreciated;
- Ability to work in a team.
