We are looking for an Instrumentation Engineer for working on TOTAL office in Pau in South of France on an Upstream project

The Instrument Engineer will be based in Company office in Pau and after Contract award at Deck and/or ICSS contractor's engineering premises. These engineering premises can be in Paris, Teheran or anywhere else in the world (on EPCI company).


1. To adopt and demonstrate an exemplary behaviour with regard to HSSEQ and to implement and control HSSEQ rules and requirements within his area of responsibility.
2. To assist the Lead SP11 ICSS & Instrumentation Engineer in following-up Engineer's activities related to Instrumentation and Control Systems in particular field instrumentation and packages and ensure compliance with Company/Project specifications and with the requirements of the project documentation.
3. To ensure a good coordination between Decks CONTRACTOR and ICSS Integrator (under supervision of the ICSS/INS lead engineer).
4. To assist the commissioning team regarding all queries related to instrumentation during the engineering phase.
5. To perform 3D model reviews in order to optimize cable routing and accessibility and maintainability of instrumentation equipment.
6. To anticipate problems and offer solutions and inform ICSS/INS Lead Engineer.
7. To report to ICSS/INS Lead Engineer on progress of his activities and any changes thereto
8. To comment on Contractor documents in due time and assist in coordination of other Company specialists' comments within allowed time.
9. To ensure that Decks CONTRACTOR engineering documents are in line with the SPECIFICATIONS and that deviation requests are raised whenever this is not possible/feasible.
10. To liaise with the other disciplines to ensure consistency of the work.
11. To follow up (ICSS and instrumentation) Integrator and Vendor progress.
12. To attend inspections and Factory Acceptance Test of Instrumentation and Control Systems equipments as well as installation at construction site
13. To assist the ICSS/INS Lead Engineer in reviewing proposed deviations and give recommendation for project management approval.
14. To ensure confidentiality of all the documentation produced (whatever its support)
15. To assist (whenever required by the ICSS/INS Lead Engineer or Decks engineering manager) on electrical engineering matters.

Duration : 2-3 years
Starting date: January/February 2018
Location: Starting in Pau, then following to Decks EPC Contractor's engineering premises (Paris or worldwide)
Status: Resident

The Company:
English proficiency
Instrumentation Total General Specification knowledge
TOTAL E&P Project experience.
Operations knowledge.
10 years in instrumentation engineering
Previous experience as Instrument Engineer at FEED or detailed design level for a similar size project is mandatory.
Electrical engineering and construction engineering would be a plus
