The Role:
JOB DESCRIPTION Senior Planner/ Scheduler - Whiting Indiana
Our client is GROWING! We are looking for a Senior Planner/ Scheduler to join our Capital Projects team in one of our Key Oil & Gas Client's downstream asset located in East Chicago/Northern Indiana.
Reporting to Our client Project Controls Site Manger, the Senior Planner/ Scheduler will be part of our Project Services Team, site based, responsible for Mid Cap Portfolio Field progress reporting activities.
The successful candidate must also be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities. The candidate must have a proven track record of working as a Planner/Scheduler professional on Small/Mid/Large Capital projects within Oil & Gas, Chemical & Petrochem business sector. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are required.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Contribute to development of new techniques and standards; considered a skilled resource in organization.
* Develops processes that require innovation and ingenuity.
* Work performed under general direction; has some latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
* Interacts with internal and external personnel on major matters.
* Plans and prepares production schedules for business unit or organization.
* Translates orders into a sequential work schedule
* Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet completion deadlines
* Analyzes specifications and performs mathematical calculations to determine production processes, tools, and human resource requirements
* Plans and schedules workflow for each operation according to previously established sequences and lead times
* Plans sequence of operations
* Confers with supervisors to determine status of assigned projects
* Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
* Prepares status reports
* This individual will be involved in supporting a number of small, mid-cap and large-cap projects
* Will act as lead scheduler on projects.
* Understand how to fully build and maintain an organized, integrated EPC schedule using CPM, resource loading, baselining, coding, and cost accounts.
* Able to work with contractor schedulers to incorporate data in the master project schedule.
* Utilizes critical path analysis and what-if scenarios to fully support the project team.
REQUIREMENTS
Position requirements include, but are not limited to:
* Minimum of 8 Years of progressively responsible positions in an EPC Planning & Scheduling environment.
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management or Equivalent in Industrial Construction (a combination of other degrees coupled with adequate experience will also be considered).
* Strong understanding of all construction disciplines
* Strong Experience in facilitating Interactive Planning Meetings with all stakeholders to develop consensus and alignment of the team.
* Experience in the development, preparation, review, baselining of Project Schedules ( Level 1 through Level 5 schedules using WBS and Activity Codes) with experiences in Critical Path Analysis
* Experience with industrial scheduling and Risk Analysis programs such as Primavera P6 and Pertmaster.
* Demonstrates a high level of self-organization, coordination and planning
* Must be a team player and integrate easily with others
* Must have excellent communication skills
* Good communication, facilitation, negotiation, presentation, analytical and interpersonal skills
* Ability to read, understand, and communicate contract requirements including Schedule baseline, Contingency basis and site Environmental, Health, Safety Policies.
* Self-starter; creates solutions/alternatives; anticipates; acts on facts.
* Deals with conflict successfully, analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems
* Ability to perform field walks and audits; this will involve accessing areas of the site using ladders, catwalks, and scaffolding.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Position qualifications include, but are not limited to:
* Experience Primavera P6, Acumen Fuse, NetPoint.
* Registrations/Certifications: OSHA 10 preferred, Certified Project Scheduler Professional is a plus
* Experience in lean construction initiatives is a plus (use of 5-S's, Pull Planning, Make Work Ready / Constraint Analysis, and Weekly Work Planning).
* Construction Management background experience.
* Experience in building and managing teams within a complex matrix environment
* Clear understanding of commercial exhibits including Preambles, Schedules of Rates and Bills of Quantities for bid packages for major EPC and construction contracts
* Formation of commercial exhibits for contract documents
* Reviewing and preparation of responses to contractual claims and or change order requests
* Need to be committed for a 2 - 3 years assignment
