Our client:

Our client is a leading mining corporation with gold mines across the world.

They are looking for a QA/QC Specialist for their Melbourne office.

Visa and sponsorship will not be provided, so we only ask that Australia Citizen/PR candidates apply.

Main responsibilities:

  • Monitor gold mining operations to ensure that they meet production standards.
  • Collection of samples, monitoring of data quality and documentation of QAQC programs in Exploration and Operations environments.
  • Manage and co-ordinate all analytical quality assurance and quality control programs.
  • Keep updated with QAQC standards and emerging practices.
  • Ensure the collection, handling, processing and preparation of samples is of the highest possible standard.
  • Resolve any sampling adequacy, precision and accuracy issues arising from Operations and Exploration programs.
  • Adhere to internal and external requirements for running and reporting of QAQC standards and precision testing and monitoring laboratory performance.
  • Conduct lab visits and assessment of quality control data.
  • Train all relevant team members in the requirements of QAQC standard, making sure each site has a technical employee with QAQC training.
  • Manage sample preparation and assay protocols with laboratories.
  • Produce monthly site reports identifying any QAQC issues on a monthly basis.
  • Deliver analytical data.
  • Conduct quarterly QAQC compliance reports for exploration and resource development team leaders.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10+ years experience in a similar position.
  • Mining & resourcing industry experience (ideally Gold).
  • Tertiary Qualification in Geology or equivalent.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Strong chemical or geologist background.
  • We are looking for someone very analytical and enjoys data!
