Salary: Upto £40,000

The Role:
Job purpose: Part of the hardware team providing Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) resource across the business with a focus on development projects.


Duties & Responsibilities:

*Specification and design of monitoring systems/electrical panels

*Module, integration tests and factory acceptance tests

*Preparing design documentation for production (component design, technical drawings, assembly instructions and parts lists)

*System Schematics, panel layouts, cable / detail functional calculations

*Working closely with other departments to provide relevant information as required.

*Checking colleague's technical drawings to ensure they comply with company standards.

*Directive compliance assessments

*Scheme design review

*Continuous development of the companies design processes

*Follow company processes and procedures for new product introduction

*Keep up to date with technical developments, national and international standards and legislative requirements related to the discipline scope.



Essential skills:

*An electrical engineering or similar degree with particular emphasis on design plus a minimum of 5 years experience as a design engineer in a relevant hi-tech industry, e.g. special purpose machinery, industrial scientific equipment, military equipment.

OR

*HND or HNC in electrical engineering or similar plus a minimum of 7 years experience as a design engineer in a relevant hi-tech industry, e.g. special purpose machinery, industrial scientific equipment, military equipment.



Desirable skills:

*Solidworks electrical experience


*Siemens S7 PLC design experience


*Pneumatic design experience


*Experience of designing to defence standards


*Experience in the design of safety systems


*Knowledge of designing system for use at pressure.

4.Understand the importance of the customer in everything we do and carry out all duties in this role in line with Customer Service Policy


5.An ongoing personal commitment to continuous performance improvement and personal development is required of all employees to enable the company to achieve its mission and to continue to build on its tradition of excellence.


6.All candidates must be able to obtain Security Clearance
