The Company:
Our Client acquire a comprehensive deep water (900-960m) Geotechnical survey program over planned development areas on the Exmouth Plateau Northwest Shelf Australia. The proposed project will involve the installation of up to 12 subsea drill centers tied back to a single floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) vessel via flowlines, risers, and umbilicals. The Role:
An opportunity is available for two Lead QC Representative to join the Geotechnical Team.
The Geotechnical Project Lead QC consultants are clients representatives that "monitor and advise" on recording, instrumentation, and positioning matters for the geotechnical survey programs.

Duties & Responsibilities;

• Monitor and assess Contractor technical (sample acquisition / testing and positioning) procedures and processes as applicable
• Verify adherence to the contract technical requirements
• Scrutiny of DGPS navigational information and positioning operations to ensure that the program is properly positioned and that the positioning data are being properly recorded
• Ensure that satisfactory productivity is maintained
• Verify adherence to the contract SSH&E requirements and Project SSH&E Plan
• Communicate deviations to Buyer and Contractor designated personnel
• Recommend operational and technical improvements or corrective actions
• Represent Buyer in Project related operational / technical matters
• Participate in incident investigations if required
• Work with and manage as Project Team Lead the activities of the SSH&E Advisor and Technical QC representatives
• Monitor progress and any sampling/testing issues with onboard geotechnical engineers
• Report to EMEC / GeOps Project Leads with daily updates.
• Submit daily and weekly and monthly operational/(SSH&E) reports to Buyer as requested
• Assist in technical audits (instruments and positioning accuracy) to assess compliance with company's audit and contract requirements, as well as regulatory and industry standards

At the end of the survey, the Geotechnical Project Lead QC representatives is to submit three hard copies and three CDROM digital copies (to include all photographs) of the Final Operations QC Report.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
They are responsible for verifying that the survey contractors and subcontractors comply with the project plans, contract requirements, SSH&E requirements, laws and regulations, and industry standards.The Lead QC should be familiar with companies geotechnical specifications, OIMS and SHE requirements for geotechnical investigations.
He/she should hold a B.S. or higher degree in relevant Science / Engineering field from an accredited university, have 10+ years’ experience managing and directing offshore geotechnical/geophysical investigations to include the use of rotary drilling and downhole sampling, seabed sampling, and CPT data acquisition techniques. He/she should have experience, with site investigation / geotechnical techniques in deep water depths (over 500 meters).

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
TRAINING and SKILLS Requirements

• First Aid & CPR (within the last three years)
* Safety Management (for Lead Technical QC representative and SHE advisor)
• Saftey Training to include Incident Investigation, Risk Assessments, Management of Change, Permits To Work, Work Observations, Behavior Based Safety.
* Hazardous Material Awareness (HAZCOM or equivalent)
* Drug and Alcohol Awareness
* Sea Survival Training (current certificate) preferably to include Helicopter Underwater Escape Training
* Certificate of Medical Fitness to Work Offshore signed by a qualified medical practitioner to recognized international standards, e.g. United Kingdom Offshore Operators Association (UKOOA)
• Competent Computer skills

All representatives will also require D&A testing with negative results within 9 months of start of the project.
