The Role:
My client who are a global Chemical manufacturer have a rare opportunity for an experienced EHS Business Manager ideally based in Belgium, with a strong background in change management and transformational leadership to join their Polyurethanes business in a newly created role driving EHS culture across their downstream businesses. This is a home based position and you will be driving EHS throughout 7 manufacturing sites.

Reporting into the Global EHS Director, and acting as part of the Regional Business Leadership Team, this will be a position focused on leading behavioural change across several small scale manufacturing sites, many of which have been recent bolt-on acquisitions, looking to continue to drive manufacturing footprint into more 'Downstream' markets and standardise EHS practices across the business.

Additionally, as the Regional EHS Business Partner, you will:

* Build strong internal relationships with the Global EHS Leadership Team, Regional Business Leadership Team, Site Managers and the EHS Center of Excellence to set objectives and develop frameworks to ensure full implementation of standards and improvements in all EHS areas
* Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the EHS Standards & programs and the full implementation of blended frameworks and policies for our Downstream manufacturing operations
* Provide direct and indirect management and functional leadership to all Downstream Site Managers and EHS professionals to ensure the implementation and application of all corporate and regulatory standards.
* Develop a strong network of EHS teams across the Downstream manufacturing sites to share best practices and improvement opportunities to drive towards one EHS culture
* Ensure an open reporting and learning culture, where all accidents, incidents, near misses and violations are reported, investigated, corrected and shared as appropriate
* Participate in assessing current conditions of our downstream assets, risk mitigations, and plan of actions to comply with EHS standards and support with M&A activity when required
* Review and correct the EHS downstream capital budget and assess mandatory compliance-based expenditure


* Degree qualification in EHS, environmental science, engineering or chemistry discipline with previous experience in a leadership role focused on change management
* Background within the chemical manufacturing sector with a knowledge of small / medium scale manufacturing operations
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels
* Demonstrable track record in implementing a sustained behavioural change within an organisation which contributes to business goals
* This position can be based from any of our manufacturing sites across Europe however frequent travel will be required.
