The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to be part of our Decommissioning team based in Norwich. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of all permits, licenses, approvals, notifications and consents (PLANC) required for decommissioning operations and implementation throughout the decommissioning activities. The position will ensure the necessary compliance, assurance and control processes are in place and working effectively to prevent HSE, financial and operational risks being introduced to the business through the undertaking of decommissioning activities.

The successful candidate will develop and maintain close working relationships with other Decommissioning Leads as well as offshore Decommissioning Team to manage the PLANC register in a timely and efficient manner.

The role will report directly to the decommissioning manager and will lead a team of Compliance and Assurance, Safety and Environmental Advisors. Management of the interface between decommissioning department and QSHE department will be key to the success of this position and a functional relation will be established with the QSHE Manager to deliver this.
Key responsibilities include:

 -Lead the PLANC process from the initiation of the decommissioning phase through the close-out of decommissioning activities for each asset.
 -Point of contact for relevant Regulatory authorities
 -Deliver all documentation required for interactions with Regulatory Bodies and Partners related to decommissioning activities.
 -Coordinate with other Decommissioning Leads as well as Offshore teams to ensure compliance with all commitments
 -Develop strong relationships with decommissioning focal points within Regulatory Bodies to deliver all PLANCs in timely and efficient manner
 -Maintain a register of commitments that decommissioning is required to comply with in day-to-day delivery of operations and project activities.
 -Develop and implement an in-house audit programme ensure timely delivery of commitments
 -Support Decommissioning Operations and rigorous cost control by providing clear understanding of regulatory rules and boundaries.
 -Interact with other operators, trade bodies and regulatory bodies to support potential changes to practices and regulations in favour of a more efficient decommissioning process

Safety Critical Tasks:

Compliance (HSE) - ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental legislation and best practice for all aspects of decommissioning. Follow-up of department activities and recommend changes or adaptations whenever required.

Personal Attributes:

The role holder will have strong leadership skills with a desire to proactively develop others, as well as an ability to positively communicate the details of applicable regulation within PUK. Able to initiate and facilitate change in a positive way whilst operating in an environment where tasks are complex processes are sometimes unclear due to the nature of the work. The role holder will be innovative, collaborative and have a can do attitude.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

 -Degree qualified engineer preferred or demonstrable experience of a high level of technical knowledge relating to decommissioning activities
 -Clear knowledge and understanding of the applicable regulatory requirements and their subtlety
 -Significant and demonstrable experience of working within the UK oil and gas regulatory framework.
 -Experience in decommissioning works, or alternative projects / operations in the oil & gas industry.
 -Proven leader of multi-disciplinary team
