The Role:
This position will involve working closely with the Construction Manager, Construction Planner, Expediter and Fabrication Co-Ordinator to contribute to the overall project execution strategy. The successful candidate will be expected to facilitate the flow of materials and equipment to and from the various onshore and offshore facilities, ensuring the right materials arrive at the correct job site in a timely manner.
This role will encompass a variety of tasks, including helping to ensure that projects are appropriately managed to completion. You will also be accountable for all deliveries, with the goal of continuous improvement via periodic reviews.
Key responsibilities:
* Maintain an up-to-date working list of all materials orders, including key activity dates and progress, to facilitate effective planning and prioritisation of work
* Close coordination with the construction and planning team to ensure correct materials and equipment are made available at site in alignment with the project plan
* Ensure that the SPAs are kept informed on all materials progress and deliveries
* Ensure any Risks to delivery schedules are identified to SPA and relevant asset/key activity planners
* Ensure that all activities are identified, planned and managed within the asset planning system
* Work pack information transfer to the relevant asset/key activity planners
* Ensure that all budgets are managed accordingly, to assure budget limits are not breached, and any potential overspends are managed and communicated in the appropriate manner
Skills and Experience
* The role remains in frequent contact with the Procurement Team and Fabrication Co-Ordinator to ensure that equipment/material deliveries are running according to schedule
* Work with the logistics team to ensure offshore shipping arrangements are in place for equipment and materials
* Investigate contingency plans for late deliveries or defective materials, whilst also being ready to solve other problems, such as needing more materials than planned
* At the conclusion of any work, the role is responsible for returning any unused materials to the supplier when possible or added to stores stockEnsure that key deliverables are progressed and completed in a timely and efficient manner
Experience/Skills
* Strong experience of working within North Sea construction and project environment in a materials and equipment coordination role
* Strong interpersonal skills and work closely with the Project team, Planning team and external Vendors
* They must have strong computer skills to enable tracking of materials deliverables
* Highly organised, accurate and methodical work ethic
* Proven ability to work to set priorities and deadlines
