The Role:
 A Senior Management role providing strategic direction and leadership in all HSE matters across Perenco UK.
 Manage and lead all aspects of Health, Safety (Operational, Process and Behavioural), Security, Environment and Integrity Assurance across Perenco UK's asset base.
 Set, implement and assuring appropriate HSE policies, procedures, and standards.
 Directly manage a small team, and support of the local operations in the strategic development and implementation of Group and local HSE initiatives.
 Drive a culture for continued development and improvement of the HSE proactive initiatives including risk management, asset integrity and improved safety culture in the business.
 Ensure that all incident investigations are managed to an effective conclusion.
 Communicate effectively with the senior management on all relevant functional matters relating to HSE.
 Provide leadership with strong coaching, mentoring and functional guidance on HSE matters.

Develop and sustain a culture that stimulates high levels of HSE performance and continuous improvement.
 Develop and agree strategy with the management team, aligned with Group HSE strategy
 Provide strong leadership and proactive support to the General Manager in order to ensure a consistent, approach to HSE.
 Develop and manage an annual HSE improvement plan for Projects, Drilling and Operations support incorporating any Group initiatives and objectives.
 Ensure appropriate governance of HSE matters across the business including maintenance of PUK's Safety Management System and input to the corporate risk register.
 Monitor HSE performance and take corrective action where necessary
 Work closely with the General Manager team to set direction, formulate HSE plans, agree KPIs (including process safety) and monitor their implementation.
 Lead, manage and develop the HSE team
 Liaise with government agencies and industry bodies (e.g. Health & Safety Executive the
Environment Agency, DECC, SEPA, PSA).
 Develop and manage implementation of annual audit plans of operations and contractors, to ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental protection requirements.
 Maintain an awareness and understanding of all current and pending legislation, guidance notes, codes, etc relating to health, safety and environmental protection and provide advice and guidance to senior management and others on these and their implications.
 Maintain contact on health, safety and environmental matters with relevant Government departments and outside specialist bodies and to provide liaison with organisations representing Industry (e.g. Oil and Gas UK).
 Manage appropriate processes for effective emergency command and control.
 Undertake asset acceptance audits to provide assurance that major new facilities have been constructed as designed and are fit for purpose prior to final commissioning
 Participate in due diligence reviews for new business acquisitions and business development activities.
 Ensure incidents are thoroughly investigated to determine root cause and learning
 Develop and manage Safety Cases reports, Pollution, Prevention and Control EUETS permits and Environmental Statements for PUK.
 Act as HSE nominated 'Competent Person' for health and safety.
 Management of verification activities to ensure all conditions of class are met.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
 Extensive knowledge of HSE systems, practices and legislation, underpinned by at least 10
years' experience at a senior level position as an HSE Manager in the energy or chemical
 Ability to evaluate and interpret legislative requirements and advise / influence accordingly.
 Strong interpersonal, influencing and relationship management skills.
 Educated to degree level preferably in an engineering or appropriate scientific discipline.
Chartered or similar professional status from a Safety/Environmental body.
 NEBOSH Certificate preferred.
 A further degree in a HSE related subject preferred.
Established HSE professional with a strong operational background and significant experience of managing HSES within the Oil & Gas industry. Degree educated, supported by a recognised Safety qualification, and able to demonstrate a substantial track record of achievement in a similar role within an organisation in a safety critical, regulated, complex asset management and
