The Role:
* The Piping Engineering Head is responsible for all project activities related to Piping engineering. He will steward Piping engineering activities to ensure quality and timely delivery of Piping engineering scope. Drive the EPC contractor by providing clear guidance and facilitating resolution to issues to complete Piping engineering activities.
Reporting and Relationships * Engineering Manager*
1. Job Purpose:
The Piping Engineer Head is responsible for overseeing the EPC Contractor's activities for the design, integration and testing of the NFE Onshore Project Piping engineering deliverables in accordance with the Project Specifications and EPC Contract requirements.
3. Key Result Areas:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Leads NFE Onshore Project Team's successful execution of Piping requirements throughout project life.
* Coordinates Piping technical support for procurement, quality, testing and construction activities.
- Detail Piping engineering
- Development and design of the Piping system
- Development of the schedule, recommended deliverables, and labor hour estimate for Piping System.
- Adherence to engineering and quality surveillance plans including interfacing with Company's Vendor Quality Surveillance Engineer.
- Measurement and reporting of physical progress
- Selection, specification, and inspection of Piping components
- Procurement of Piping bid evaluations, bid tabulations, bid recommendations, etc.
* Reviews, evaluates and advises the NFE Onshore Project Team and Operating Company staff concerning:
- Piping specifications
- Compliance with design methods and safety and security factors to be used in design of project.
- Technical bid tabulations for Piping systems

5. Communications and Working Relationships:
* Interfaces with various project teams and departments on resolving related issues that requires effective communication, initiative, flexibility and an ability to induce collaboration.

* Utilizes a systematic approach to problem solving that ensures accuracy, timeliness and quality of documentation in resolution.
7. Decision Making Authority and Responsibility:
* Works independently within established procedures, plans and budgets.
8. Knowledge Skills and Experience:
* Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Good technical skills.
* Technical understanding of state-of-the-art Piping system technology.
* Minimum of twenty (15) years technical experience in discipline with at least ten (10) years demonstrated technical leadership experience in major capital projects.
* Experience with contractors, vendors, and implementation sub contractors for Piping Systems
* Experience in working in Multi Cultural Environment.
* Thorough and extensive knowledge of:
- Piping engineering principles, theories, and concepts
- Design of Cryogenic Pipe, Valves
- Stress Analysis, Surge analysis
- Applicable codes, standards, and trade practices
* Thorough knowledge and expert judgment in the selection and application of Piping engineering design practices.
* Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
Part B: Person Specification - Minimum Requirements
* Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
Knowledge and/or Experience
* Minimum of ten (15) years broad experience in all project phases i.e. engineering, procurement, and construction, with at least five (5) years specific involvement in major Oil and Gas process facilities, preferably LNG design engineering and execution through handover to Owner.
* Requires demonstrated broad Piping equipment and systems experience (Engineering tools, Pipe Stress Analysis, 3D Modelling, piping design, cryogenic pipe and valve design) and familiarity with relevant industry codes
* Demonstrated project engineering/reporting skills are of important in this position.
* Experience with Contractors, vendors and sub-vendors, in particular those involved in the construction of onshore facilities.
* Minimum 5 years living/working outside home country (expat status).
