The Role:
Key Job Accountabilities
1. Conduct Health Risk assessment (HRA) or update the Qatargas Health Risk Assessment Register as new information becomes available in accordance with Qatargas HRA Procedure.
2. Conduct area and personal monitoring for physical, chemical and biological hazards in accordance with the Qatargas Exposure Assessment Strategy (EAS), and update Qatargas EAS in accordance with monitoring results.
3. Conduct personal and area noise monitoring and analyse results. Present results to Qatargas employees and Contractors as applicable in accordance with Qatargas Noise Control and Hearing Conservation Procedure.
4. Implement respiratory protection program. Present respiratory protection awareness sessions to Qatargas employees/contractors as applicable in accordance with Qatargas Respiratory Protection Procedure.
5. Review/update/approve applicable safety data sheets for hazardous materials from the unit inventory; and prepare hazard communication sessions according to the Hazardous Material Management Procedure.
6. Implement Heat Stress and Fatigue Management Programs; Legionella Sampling and Potable Water Sampling Program; and NORM/Ionizing Radiation Management Program.
7. Perform office ergonomic evaluations of work stations and field operations, prepare written reports of the evaluation and make recommendations.
8. Perform/facilitate calibration of the industrial hygiene monitoring equipment, keep records of equipment periodical inspections / calibrations.
9. Provides on-call technical / field support for industrial hygiene services during critical/emergency periods.
10. Perform routine industrial hygiene and Food Safety & Worker Welfare walk-through inspections at onshore, offshore production platforms, drilling rigs, and process areas. Carry out other and similar duties at the request of the industrial hygiene head or the Supervisor.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Minimum Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, Chemical/Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or Environmental Health Sciences.
* Professional designation as an Industrial Hygienist (CIH, ROH, COH) and other additional professional Health and safety certifications are highly desirable.
* 8 years' experience in industrial hygiene/Occupational Health including Health Risk Assessment, and at least 3 years work experience in the oil and gas industry, or petrochemicals/manufacturing setting.
* Excellent command in English language.
* Computer literate (proficient with MS Office, basic use of environmental computer software).
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and lead a team sometimes under significant time constraints, and ability to communicate with several organisational levels.
* Requires strong analytical, organisational and planning skills.
