The Role:
Properly assess indications produced by NDE methods during the process of evaluating welds offshore.
Also, provide coverage for welding inspection activities as and when required, including repair of defective welds.

Key Result Areas:
* Independent, technical verification of properly executed and interpreted 'Offshore weld' examinations on BPP.
* Ensures weld indications are correctly located, sized and agreed with installation contractor
* Assures Company that queries, challenges and acceptance of CRA Girth Weld NDE results originate from a person with proper technical authority and competence.
* Monitors, witnesses and verifies correctness of all CRA Girth Weld NDE examinations on behalf of Company including relevant quality control aspects.
* Facilitates Project activities to handle contractor queries and non-conformances.
* NDE report review / acceptance on Company's behalf at intermediate and final weld stages.
* Checks radiation periodically to monitor and ensure safety of personnel.
* Facilitates Project activities to handle contractor queries and non-conformances.
* Reports irregularities and submits daily NDE status to the Quality lead.
* Periodically checks calibration of NDE equipment's.

Operating Environment, Framework and Boundaries:
* Leverages high technical expertise level in challenging, verifying and accepting CRA Girth Weld examinations conducted by industry experts on leading edge NDE systems.
* Works in a high-paced, high-pressure environment where critical NDE exam judgements with potentially high commercial and/or operating consequences are quickly made.
* Demonstrates high familiarity with RT & UT systems by having deep technical discussions on CRA / CS Weld examinations with Company and installation contractor.
* Works on large capital expenditure projects in a highly dynamic team environment that has tight-deadlines, high pressure and visibility, requiring accuracy, initiative and the ability to multi-task as essential skills.

Communications and Working Relationships:
* Interfaces with various project teams and departments on resolving related issues that requires effective communication, initiative, flexibility and an ability to induce collaboration.
* Interacts effectively with CLIENT management and external stakeholders, including statutory auditors, shareholder auditors and other entities to discuss project practices and issues.
* Exhibits team leadership skills, integrity, self-confidence, fairness and is capable of clearly and forcefully communicating PMT Quality expectations and status to multiple layers of management within CLIENT and the Contractor's organization

Problem Solving/Complexity:
* Undertakes complex tasks and acts as a source of guidance for staff and internal customers. Is expected to handle all but the most complex problems and difficulties that might arise.
* Takes initiatives, based on experienced gained, to deliver timely and cost effective service.

Decision Making Authority and Responsibility:
* Works independently within established procedures, plans and budgets and contributes to the development of these.
* Establishes credibility with peers, subordinates and supervisors.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge Skills and Experience:
* Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or B.Sc. in Physics or equivalent preferred.
* Minimum 10 years experience.
* ASNT or PCN Level III /II in RT /UT or equivalent as per EN 473 / ISO 9712. Experience with RTR & PAUT would be an added advantage.
* Prior experience with working on clad (UNS N08825 and UNS N06625) pipeline project and with interpreting intermediate radiographs.
* Offshore positions require valid offshore training (such as: BOSIET, OPITO H2S) and shall be medically fit for offshore work.
* Strong, assertive Quality management leadership skills.
* Must be capable of forcefully communicating Quality requirements, results and status throughout Company and contractor management and craft labor levels.
* Shall possess sound knowledge on welding processes and configuration of welds.
* Good knowledge of the weldability of clad pipes.
* Well conversant with international codes and standards and different radiography expos
