The Role:
Job Purpose:
Oversee implementation of all required Quality Control activities established within the project and respective ITPs.

Key Result Areas:
* Oversees implementation of all required Quality Control activities established within the project and respective ITPs.
* Monitors and witnesses bevel preparation, fit up of welds including measurement of hi-lo, oxygen content during back purge, interpret internal visual inspection, monitor consumables, pre-heat and interpass temperatures.
* Carries out external visual inspections. Supports execution of RTR & PaUT on Company's behalf at intermediate and final weld stages.
* Witnesses repairs carried out, measures, weld ligament size after excavation of repairs and any NDT carried out.
* Crosschecks parameters to be within approved WPS.
* Maintains records of welds completed, cutouts, repairs and present it to lead quality and help in preparing daily weld and NDT reports.
* Periodically checks the validity and qualifications of welder and NDT personnel and calibration of instruments and welding machines.
* Reviews and signs inspection reports generated on daily basis. Bring to the notice of the Quality lead any irregularities observed. Ensure safety of working personnel and environment.

* Works on large capital expenditure projects in a highly dynamic team environment that has tight-deadlines, high pressure and visibility, requiring accuracy, initiative and the ability to multi-task as essential skills.

Communications and Working Relationships:
* Interfaces with various project teams and departments on resolving related issues that requires effective communication, initiative, flexibility and an ability to induce collaboration.
* Interacts effectively with QG management and external stakeholders, including statutory auditors, shareholder auditors and other entities to discuss project practices and issues.
* Exhibits team leadership skills, integrity, self-confidence, fairness and is capable of clearly and forcefully communicating PMT Quality expectations and status to multiple layers of management within QG and the Contractor's organization

Problem Solving/Complexity:
* Undertakes complex tasks and acts as a source of guidance for staff and internal customers. Is expected to handle all but the most complex problems and difficulties that might arise.
* Takes initiatives, based on experienced gained, to deliver timely and cost effective service.

Decision Making Authority and Responsibility:
* Works independently within established procedures, plans and budgets and contributes to the development of these.
* Establishes credibility with peers, subordinates and supervisors.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge Skills and Experience:
* Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred.
* Valid AWS CWI or CSWIP certification in welding inspection with a minimum of 10 years experience in welding inspection after the certification.
* NDT level II in RT, UT.
* Prior experience in working on clad (UNS N08825 & UNS N06625) pipeline project.
* Offshore positions require valid offshore training (such as, BOSIET, OPITO H2S) and be medically fit for offshore work.
* Sound knowledge on welding processes, base metals, filler metals.
* Good knowledge of the weldability of Clad pipes.
* Good knowledge of welding inspection, internal visual inspection with camera and laser, Intermediate RT, laser measurements for hi-lo, external visual inspection.
* Strong, assertive Quality management leadership skills.
* Good verbal communication skills to interact with contractor personnel.
* Must be capable of forcefully communicating Quality requirements, results and status
