The Role:
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
1 Preparation of all monthly and annual tax, accounting and regulatory filings.
2 Preparation of budgeting and forecasting of expenditures and funding requirements in Mexico, including both internal and external Budget analysis and reports.
3 Assisting with co-ordination of auditors to ensure filing of annual financial statements on time, including accompanying reports (transfer pricing report, information return, letter of recommendation).
4 Responsible for preparation of payments.
5 Assisting with engagement with JV partners on all financial and tax matters, including JV billings, invoicing and JV audits.
6 Assisting with engagement with external advisors and auditors.
7 Assisting with responses to tax enquiries from tax authorities.

Major Challenges
Preparing all tax, accounting and regulatory filing requirements within statutory deadlines.

Financial Responsibility and Dimensions:
Management Relationships (include direct / indirect reports, external parties)
Direct reports (internal employees / external parties):

Indirect (internal employees / external parties):
Indirect external engagement with local tax advisors (KPMG), accounting providers (TMF), operators (Talos, DEM), auditors (EY) and local tax authorities (SAT).

Internal engagement with Mexican exploration team, Mexico Accountant, Group Tax Manager, Falklands Finance Manager, Group Financial Controller, Group Business Unit Finance Manager.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Candidate Profile (include Skills & Experience, Attributes, Behaviours)
2+ years experience in accounting or tax role
Good working knowledge of Excel and Word
Good interpersonal skills - is able to communicate with a range of stakeholders in different countries in a confident and professional manager
Able to manage time effectively, prioritise where conflicting prioritises arise.

Additional Role Requirements
Fluent in Mexican Spanish and English.
Travel to Mexico as required
