The Role:
The Data Engineer partners with SFT Engineers to deliver Power BI and information/data management solutions. Collaborates with both technical and business stakeholders to collect, analyze, validate and visualize facility/project information. Works with large amounts of datasets from multiple, diverse sources. Knowledge of data architecture, data integration and data quality concepts and technologies. Working experience with Power BI, Power Query data integration, DAX, PowerApps, SharePoint, application/data integration, Azure analytics technologies. Experience/familiarity with SQL, scripting (Python), SAP, Primavera P6 as well is preferred but not required. Understands how to utilize facility/project data to drive business insight and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
-Partners with product owners and other business stakeholders to design and develop analytic solutions using Power BI, Azure Analytics, etc. Performs data acquisition, data movement/transformation, data quality, and other data management activities.
-Applies design thinking and agile techniques to identify and creative opportunities to solve business problems and enable transformation.
-Applies data management and data quality techniques and technologies to ensure the accuracy, integrity and completeness information in compliance with business standards
-Has a good understanding of typical Project Management processes and data/information (cost, schedule, and quality attributes)
-Identifies and implements opportunities to improve data quality and automate and/or simplify business and team processes
-Partners with other MCBU and Factory Integrated Tool (FIT) IT teams to deliver solutions and ensure alignment
-Leverages PowerBI, SQL, Python, data integration and data management technology

CRITICAL SELECTION CRITERIA:
1. Technical Skills-
Understanding of Analytics, Data Architecture, Modeling and Integration technologies. Experience in data extract, load and transformation (ETL) techniques and tech with large, diverse data sets. Understanding of relational data models. Experience in data visualization and analytics solution architecture and delivery (PowerBI, Azure Analytics). Experience in design thinking, software engineering, Agile and DevOps methodologies and tools. Experience with programming languages / scripting tools (Java, Python, SQL). Proven ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies.

2. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills-
Demonstrated experience applying critical thinking, data mining, analytic and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis, determine the root cause of problems and create alternative solutions to solve them in the best interest of the business.

3. Learning Agility and Decision Making-
Able to work productively and independently in a fast-changing environment, with multiple, often conflicting priorities. Finds opportunities in ambiguity; Able to apply lessons learned from past experiences. Values continuous learning and sharing of knowledge to other team members. Able to self-direct work and engage with appropriate stakeholders to make effective decisions with minimal guidance. Ability to resolve issues independently and appropriately escalating to ensure quick resolution.

4. Communication, Engagement and Team Skills-
Effectively engages and collaborates with a diverse teams and disciplines across both business and IT. Acts as a liaison between technical and business resources. Ability to communicate will all levels of the organization and build positive working relationships with stakeholders. Acts as an influencer by clearly and concisely communicate data requirements and driving the improvement of SFTs data foundation.

Education/ experience:
-B.S. in Computer Science or related field (preferred); significant experience in lieu of degree will be considered
-3+ years industry experience, developing data products and/or analytics solutions
