The Role:
Summary: The main function of a planner/scheduler is to coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments. This is done through maintain, progressing, and developing project schedules as needed. A typical planner/scheduler is responsible for the project schedule, progress measurement against the schedule, keep the project team informed of critical path and key milestones, reviewing 3rd party documents and estimates and compiling project reports.
Job Responsibilities: Maintain, progress, and develop project schedules as needed and work with team members to verify the schedule is accurate and realistic. Examine documents, materials and products, and monitor work processes in order to assess completeness, accuracy and conformation to standards and specifications. Review documents such as, work orders, estimates, progress reports, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements, and material priorities.
Skills: Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze costs related to manufacturing, labor and materials. Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information. Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel, P6, and Microsoft Project.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED required. 5-7 years related experience in project control/ planning and scheduling required.
