Our client, a major operator, is seeking a HSE Technical Assistant to support their Health Environment and Safety business in Calgary. The main function of the HSE Technical Assistant is to lead the implementation and execution of the data collection, data processing and data reporting functions for the HSE department. In doing so delivering quality reports on time. The HSE Technical Assistant position will be mainly office based, but they will have the opportunity for some field travel to provide data/technical training for field workers. This position is open because the current incumbent is out on medical leave for an extended time. Per the selected contractor's performance, the assignment could be extended, or has the potential to transition into a full-time role.

Job Responsibilities:
* Lead end of month Impact reporting and associated HSE scorecard results. - Monthly
* Provide Accurate and timely reporting of OE (Env) Performance Metrics to the company - Quarterly
* Provide quality assurance/quality control for safety and environmental data capture and reporting.
* In limited circumstances prepare customized MS PowerPoint reports for special requests
* Maintain and modify hierarchy in IMS to add hierarchy for new projects and modify where project dynamics change
* Support internal and external environmental data reporting requirements, as required.
* Provide training to staff on the use and function of the IMS database.
* Liaise with various departments to track, analyze and report on key HSE metrics, such as: air emissions, waste transport and disposal, water use, and spill reporting.
* Maintain the incident investigation and reporting SharePoint site.
* Assist in the development and maintenance of HSE SharePoint sites.
* Oversee file management and document management techniques for the HSE Team.
* Develop and maintain environmental and regulatory documentation and prepare permit binders for Appraisal projects.
* Back-up support for managing Sphera Essential support, task management and permit tracking - OE Assurance.

Required Qualifications:
- An associate degree in Data Management or 4-5 years of experience in data management OR relevant experience
- Must have excellent Microsoft Excel and database computing skills - (pivot tables, basic manipulation, macros creation, creating bundle reports in spreadsheets)
-Full Microsoft Suite Experience - Excel, PowerPoint, Word
-Experience maintaining SharePoint sites
- Must have good influencing skills
- Able to QA/QC large amounts of data
- Experience in Turnaround reporting and management
- Proven initiative team work and organizational skills
- Proven business sense with strong troubleshooting and decision making abilities
- Strong communication and problem solving skills with the ability to quickly understand the associated priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Spotfire or Power BI would be a plus.
