The Role:
Our client is seeking an IOC (Integrated Operations Center) Strategic Advisor in Whitecourt. The IOC Strategic Advisor is entrusted with the responsibility to assist in identifying the highest value opportunities, addressing most critical challenges and transform the operational workflows of IOC. The position is slated through 3/1/2021 at this time and will most likely extend through the end of 2021.

Transformation & Strategy
* Assisting in developing Ops Support vision and goals for IOC, OPS Digital and WRO
* Identifying and developing clear understanding of value creation activities in CBU operations
* Conduct extensive research and provide recommendations to IOC and OPS Support Supervisor
* Identify collaboration opportunities with other groups within organization to achieve goals
* Create programs and initiatives for shaping plan execution
* Support development of succession planning, training program, coordination and communication development
* Build strategic road maps to assess every operation and identify innovation leaps for achieving specific business objectives
* Support communication strategy for OPS Support groups
* Conceptualize long term technical transformation of core assets and adopting new operating models
* Continuously build organizational capabilities to help transform into a digital IOC, ensure scalability and reliability of operations
* Developing workflows that lead to efficient operational practices and pad/ facility design

Technical Liaison
* Identify gaps in existing systems to fix and support PI, SCADA, EC integration
* Provide guidance on data integration and automation application programming
* Support design and setup of PI, SCADA, EC and OneStor data transfer
* Develop key remote monitoring and control applications
* Identify and pursue opportunities to future proof IOC remote monitoring and control systems
* Support/ represent IOC on technical platforms, meetings and initiatives
* Collaborate with internal and external groups to ensure business priorities are met
* Establish partnerships and relationships with other groups to achieve digital maturity
* Establishing dialogue with delegations and conveying the value proposition of IOC, WRO and Ops Digital

Business Planning and Cost Control
* Business planning and stakeholder engagement to develop corrective actions and strategies to address gaps
* Periodic and ad-hoc reporting for management objectives
* Identifying opportunities for IOC initiatives leading to CAPEX and OPEX reductions

Projects and Initiatives
* Plan support and execute key IOC initiatives over the project lifecycle
o Chemical Management program
o Intermediate casing pressure
o Pipeline monitoring
o Well Pad of the Future
* Identify technical gaps in strategic initiatives

Requirements:
* 5-10 years of experience in well monitoring software development and implementation required
* Education Requirements: Engineering Degree in Electronics and Communication required, and an MBA required
* Experience within well monitoring operations center environment required
* Project management experience required
* Experience integrating, support design and setup of PI, SCADA, EC (Energy Components) and OneStor data transfer required
* Experience directing/managing others, will have the Advanced Solutions Specialist - IOC reporting directly to them
* Proficient working experience within MS Office required

Additional Notes:
* Position will require individual to sit on site

Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their LNG mega-project in Western Canada.This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.
