The Role:
Key Responsibilities
* Assist developing contracting strategies and in securing internal and external (JV) approvals through all phases of the Project.
* Lead tendering activities for contracts/POs including preparation of the tender packages, evaluating proposals in conjunction with technical, HSEQ, legal, IR and other relevant stakeholders, preparing recommendations for award, negotiations and preparing contract documents for the Barossa Project subsea/pipeline scope.
* Contract administration including such activities as ensuring terms and conditions are followed, compensation is in accordance with contract requirements, change order administration protects the company's interest, and contract closeout is completed on a timely, accurate and fully auditable basis.
* Provide recommendations to project management on issues related to contractor performance and change orders.
* Ensure contracting and procurement activites are executed within project requirements, budget and schedule, and are performed in accordance with approved work processes and compliant with Supply Chain systems (SAP and contracts management system gCMS).
* Act as the contractual focal point when interfacing with contractors on such issues as purchasing, expediting, invoicing, logistics, materials management and change order requests.
* Liaison and collaboration with regional, corporate and ABU-West Supply Chain leadership.
* Utilize company strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management techniques and agreements where suitable.
* Coordinate with the category and supplier specific market intelligence groups to integrate market intelligence into the project including resource availability, capability, lead time estimates, etc.
* Management and oversight of contractors' contracts and procurement functions.
* Identify key risks and opportunities in contracting and procurement activities; propose effective mitigations.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualification in business, engineering, science, supply chain or other relevant discipline.
* 10 - 15 years of experience in procurement processes on major offshore oil or gas developments or operations, from requisitioning through contract award and post-award management.
* 2 - 5 years of experience as a Contracts or Procurement Specialist dealing with subsea contracts on capital projects in excess of $1B.
* Demonstrated experience in SAP.
* Attention to detail and ability to produce consistently high-quality work within expected timeframes.
* Ability to work as part of a team and with minimal supervision.
* Process oriented and good analytical skills
