The Role:
We are recruiting for an Instrument and Controls Engineer with key experience working on an FPSO. Reporting into the Project Engineering Manager, this is a brand new role constructed to oversee the development and execution through the FEED stage of this Oil and Gas Project. Being an active participant in the Commissioning and Start-up of the facility, the Instrumentation and Controls Engineer will be an highly effective communicator with the ability to develop and present management reports at all levels.


This position is based in Perth with the intention to mobilise to a location in Asia for Construction, Commissioning and will be required follow the project offshore for Start-up.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Identify applicable design requirements for instrument and controls systems and ensure design is done in compliance to regulations and company standards
  • Ensure standardization and available synergies are leveraged in design of the assets
  • Monitor Contractor performance and provide guidance to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and to Company's design philosophy, specifications
  • Review and monitor project instrument & controls engineering deliverables, vendor data and design changes
  • Participate in facility PFD, P&ID and 3D Model Reviews
  • Participate in system and equipment HAZID, HAZOP and HFE reviews
  • Participate in LOPA, SIL calculation review and design of SIFs
  • Participate in Factory and Site Acceptance Testing
  • Participate in project audits as requested by Management

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified Instrument, Electrical or Electronics Engineer
  • Essential operations project experience on major upstream facilities or capital projects
  • Analytical skills with a practical approach to problem solving
  • Willingness to travel to support project needs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA)
  • Previous experience of working in Australia and knowledge of regulatory regime
  • Previous experience on multi-disciplinary teams on major international capital projects
