The Role:
This role is responsible for development and execution of process solutions throughout the FEL3 and execution phases of FPSO development. The Mechanical and Rotating Equipment engineer is responsible for;

* Identifying applicable design requirements for mechanical and rotating equipment systems
* Ensuring that the mechanical and rotating equipment design is done according to contractor specifications and regulatory and Company standards for safety and operability.
* Ensuring that standardization and available synergies are leveraged in design of the assets

It is also intended that this role will mobilise to a location in Asia for Construction, Commissioning and follow the project offshore for Start-up.

Key Accountabilities

* Monitor Contractor's performance and provide guidance as necessary to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and to Company's design philosophy, specifications and other requirements
* Review and monitor project mechanical and rotating equipment deliverables, vendor data and design changes
* Support project interface management with other project disciplines and with external contractors
* Conduct QA surveillance of contractors vendors adherence to contractual requirements for fabrication, installation and commissioning of mechanical and rotating equipment.
* Obtain assistance from corporate engineering resources as required.

Key Responsibilities

* Participate in facility P&ID and 3D Model Reviews.
* Participate in system and equipment HAZID, HAZOP and HFE reviews.
* Participate in Factory and Site Acceptance Testing.
* Participate in project audits as requested by Management.
* Active role in the Commissioning and Startup of the facility.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Degree qualified Mechanical Engineer
* Minimum of 10 years of operations or project experience on major upstream facilities or capital projects
* Demonstrated interpersonal/teambuilding skills
* Analytical/technical skills with a practical approach to problem solving
* Willingness and ability to travel to support project needs.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Major Capital Project experience of commissioning, start-up and performance testing of large gas turbine machines (Aero Derivative preferred) and hydrocarbon compression equipment.
* Previous experience of working in Australia and knowledge of regulatory regime.
* Previous experience on multi-disciplinary teams on major international capital projects
* Highly effective communication skills and ability to develop and present management reports at all level
