The Role:
This position will support the FPSO Marine Systems Manager through the design, construction, delivery, installation, hook-up, commissioning and handover to operations of the FPSO Living Quarters.
The LQ engineer will play a major role in ensuring the suitability of the design to the functional requirements, applicable regulations and contractor specifications. They will address comfort, personnel safety, EER and human factors issues in design of new facilities and in conversion of existing vessels.
Early project work will be centred at Perth office and will likely relocate to the FPSO Contractor's design office and later to the Hull fabrication shipyard, further mobilisation will be required to support integration, and start up activities.

Key Accountabilities
* The LQ Engineer will be responsible for oversight of the engineering and construction activities in the Project related to LQ.
* Act as the focal point for all discipline related to the construction of the Living quarter on the FPSO
* Work closely with the Class and Verification Engineers to reviews comments and specifications in relation to applicable Laws, Regulations and Standards
* Works closely with the Operations team and Safety Engineer to incorporate operational design requirements into the FPSO living quarters and other habitation areas onboard in compliance with the FPSO Design
* Support field installation, technical documentation, product design review and validation, technical planning, customer interface, and project execution
* Participate in relevant reviews such as HAZOP, HAZID, ALARP and QRA updates
* Ensures project conformance to applicable standards, international requirements, class rules, and local regulations; implements industry best practices;
* Attend and actively contribute in architectural discipline meetings;
* Day-to-day contact with contractors' designers and architects;
* Follow up contractors' designs and provide necessary interface with Operations during design stages;
* Report technical deviations;
* Present proposals and alternative solutions when required;
* Process and follow up technical queries from contractors and Operations;
* Actively support other disciplines to ensure inter-discipline coherence and experience transfer;
* Participate in project risk management process;
* Participate in HAZID and HAZOP meetings;

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* BS/MS in Engineering, Architectural, or similar degree
* Overall a minimum of 10 - 15+ years' experience post qualification
* Minimum 5 years previous experience as LQ Engineer for FPSO projects
* Previous experience in all facets of LQ design, construction and commissioning.
* Experience working in a multicultural team in a diverse cultural environment.
* Willing to relocate to the FPSO Contractor's design office, fabrication and integration yard and finally to the offshore installation location.
* Knowledge of Australian Marine Acts and Legislation (International / Commonwealth and State) and Industry guidelines
* FPSO Operations Experience
* Previous experience on LQ project working under Australian Regulatory Regime
* Highly effective organization & communication skills; ability to coordinate across functions and develop/present management reports at all levels.
* Analytical/technical skills with a practical approach to problem solving.
