The Role:
The subsea process / flow assurance engineer will have responsibility for technical oversight of the flow assurance work performed by the external contractor(s) through the engineering phases, providing project functional support to sub-surface, drilling, process and mechanical engineering design, and operations.
This includes leading and monitoring progress of the flow assurance engineering contractor, providing technical recommendations, reviews and insight into study outputs, and ensuring consistency of key interface data across the project engineering disciplines.

Key Accountabilities
* Develop and own flow assurance / subsea process data across the project.
* Provide technical expertise and input into subsea flow assurance scenario modelling and analyses to support facility engineering decisions; including all static and dynamic operational scenarios over the life of field.
* Support the subsea and pipeline design, materials selection and corrosion, systems and process integration, fluid design characteristics and production chemistry, development of pre-commissioning / commissioning / operating strategies and HSE activities.
* Interpret and utilise the results of subsea process and flow assurance work and specialist studies to ensure alignment with the Design Basis, Premise Data and Functional Specifications across the project.
* Support project assurance activities for delivery and planning, along with the development of documentation for use by operation.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead the flow assurance modelling activities and interpret that results to provide input into engineering design activities and operating strategies through the project phases.
* Coordinate and align with the principal interfaces (Subsurface, Drilling, Operations and FPSO) to understand inter-discipline constraints, limits and design requirements, and assuring consistency between project flow assurance models (static and dynamic) and subsurface models, completion design and topsides processes.
* Work closely with the Subsea and Pipeline teams to interpret technical flow assurance results and implement these into the design and functional definition of risers, umbilicals, subsea structures and valves, flowlines / pipelines, and control systems.
* Work closely with the Subsea Systems Lead and Operations team to translate technical flow assurance scopes into practical operating strategies and procedures that are robust and align with the defined design parameters.
* Take an active participation role in HAZOPs, HAZIDs, design, operability and risk reviews.
* Support the development of system P&IDs, cause and effects, subsea system functional requirements, project safety cases, environmental plans and the offshore project plan (OPP).
* Define and design all subsea system characteristics to assure production reliability, including: operating and design parameters, chemical requirements and injection locations, subsea system insulation and dead-leg identification, cooldown and no-touch times, depressurisation rates, limits and durations, start-up / ramp-up sequences, hydrate risk profiles, liquid management strategies, functional requirements of topsides separators

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Suitable degree qualification(s) in a relevant engineering discipline.
* 10+ years subsea process / flow assurance (or related) experience in the oil and gas industry.
* Extensive senior level experience with gas / condensate fields, and substantial experience in subsea processing and flow assurance in an operating or consulting capacity.
* Good understanding of key reservoir, subsea and topsides facility issues associated with high temperature gas / condensate subsea system tiebacks.
* A strong appreciation and understanding of well thermo-hydraulic modelling, flow assurance impact on subsea design (fatigue, buckling, walking, expansion etc.) and sub-surface uncertainties.
* Demonstrated success in managing flow assurance issues with industry software packages (e.g. Olga, Pipesim, PVTSim, LedaFlow, Maximus, Petex etc.) and competence in the effective implementation of simulations.
* A strong and adaptive verbal communicator, along with the capability of translating complex tec
