Provide an effective production planning and supply chain function to facilitate the efficient use of operational resources.

Create raw material demand plans and work with the UK Purchasing Manager to order these raw materials from approved suppliers in a timely fashion to meet the production schedules.

Provide a plant production schedule that meets agreed demand and customer requirements, support processes that track raw materials inventory levels, WIP/SIP levels and finished goods levels and oversee shipping.

Manage the Warehouse facility and its associated activities including the receipt and safe storage of goods and materials, despatch of finished goods, packaging and raw materials.


Production Planning

Ensure the Supply Plan and Plant Scheduling Plan are in sync and provide feedback on associated issues, concerns, and opportunities related to plant planning and scheduling.

Provide feedback on blocked, slow-moving, and excess/obsolete materials/stock.

Ensure production plans, raw material requirements, metric reporting, and other requirements are completed.

Work with production management to engage on current actions, issues, concerns as well as communicate planning details.

Support raw material needs and packaging to satisfy the production plan/schedule through development of purchase orders to meet finished goods production plans/schedules.

Identify and develop cost savings and efficiency improvement projects.

Develop the Material Requirement Planner (MRP) system as a planning tool

Warehouse Management

Liaise with the Site Services Lead Operator to co-ordinate and supervise the day-to-day activities of Warehouse personnel and the effective distribution of labour

Ensure the safe and efficient storage of raw materials, intermediates, final product and packaging in compliance with legislative requirements and HSE guidelines

Ensure that the warehouse operation provides accurate and on-time supply of material from stock to enable all operating plants to meet the production plan and that appropriate systems are in place to maintain accurate stock reporting

Provide a system to warehouse operations that ensures that internal receipts are being correctly marked and labelled


  • Minimum of A-level standard
  • Minimum of 5 years year experience in a planning role or supporting planning processes in a chemical or manufacturing plant is preferred
  • Experience using SAP or other integrated planning (ERP/MRP) tools/software
  • Strong process improvement and project management skills
  • Strong working knowledge using Excel (pivot tables, report generation, data-mining)
  • Ability to develop written instructions and provide verbal instructions on processes
  • Ability to work independently as well as be a strong participant on team projects
  • Strong verbal/non-verbal communication and presentation skills
