The Role:
To ensure the efficient use of both internal and external resource to deliver the highest level of plant reliability and operational excellence, enabling the Area teams to deliver their respective goals.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Health, Safety and Environment

* Ensure that all personnel within the team adhere to health, safety & environmental standards and that standards are applied consistently.
* Endorse the adoption of 'best practice'.
* Monitor and review safe systems of work to ensure that all operations are carried out in accordance with required safety standards for in-house staff and contractors under direct supervision.
* Ensure all contractors under direct supervision are fully inducted in site rules and regulations.
* Proactively engage the site safety programme.


Responsibilities include:

Process operations

* To organise engineering resource and materials needed to support production operations and deliver maintenance plan.
* To provide technical advice to trades personnel where appropriate.
* To identify and promote ideas for improving equipment reliability and reducing plant downtime
* To deliver/exceed agreed objectives as measured by departmental KPI's (Key Performance Indicators).
* To support production activities as required.
* To stand in for the UK Reliability Engineer as necessary.
* To use the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to allocate breakdown and preventative maintenance work to trades personnel.
* To seek to eliminate repeat problems by tackling root causes of failure.
* To ensure the adequate and correct maintenance of workshop equipment and to ensure workshop housekeeping.

Quality

* Inspection of completed work to ensure a high quality of plant repair and compliance with all relevant engineering standards.

Business/Finance

* To ensure the most efficient use of personnel in accordance with production requirements and in line with the planned maintenance system.
* To monitor and control costs within approved limits.
* To ensure the efficient use of Contractors' labour resource to assist in the reduction of overall contractors' costs.

Plant records

* To ensure that all documentation and records are passed to relevant departments.
* To ensure that the CMMS is kept up to date.

Teamwork

* To provide leadership and management to maintenance resource.
* To motivate and inspire the maintenance team to deliver objectives.
* Using team resources, to ensure that the needs of customers are identified and satisfied.
* Promote good working practices between all team members to ensure that business goals are met.
* To assist in ensuring that team members are continually developed and challenged in their roles.
* Establish and develop effective working relationships with other members of the engineering team, production team and other service departments.

Communication

* To attend meetings as appropriate with the UK Reliability Engineer to review work completed, work outstanding and planned work for the week ahead, taking into account resource availability.
* Liaise with all members of the plant team to ensure the effective and timely exchange of technical information.

Training

* Identify personal training needs to maintain the required skills and knowledge to perform the job to the necessary standard.
* Identify training requirements for team members.
