The Role:
We are seeking Management Accountant to help support our client's Finance team on a 6 to 12-month contract, with possible extension. In this role you will be providing management accounting services to the Company's Australian group assets, which includes both operated and non-operated Joint Ventures. The incumbent supports the Lead Management Accountant in respect of finance operations.

Key functions of the role include:

  • Implementing Company's accounting policies and principles within the business
  • Establishing internal relationships to improve understanding of the business
  • Participating in business strategies by providing support to key initiatives
  • Working to align services and processes with other internal service providers, leading to improving service levels and developing greater process integration
  • Period close - Receive and review journals and accrual inputs prepared by the offshore operatives
  • Coordinate preparation of budget/forecast for assigned Departments for inclusion in the relevant Work Program and Budget documents which are submitted for approval by Company's Board and JV participants
  • Audit - Collaborate and support organisation's Internal Audit teams and participate in non-Operator audits as required
  • Skilled in FI-CO, PS and CATS to power user capacity to assist user's support
  • Undertake User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for systems enhancements/changes when required, and coordinate inputs from the offshore Management Accounting team.
  • Support the implementation of quality systems across both the offshore and Perth Management Accounting teams.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

  • CA / CPA / CIMA qualified Accountant
  • Circa 5-7 years post-graduate experience
  • Oil & Gas background and experience preferred
  • Strong SAP background with a focus on Financial Reporting; around 3 years preferable SAP experience with demonstrated knowledge of FI, CO, PS modules with a good understanding of MM, BW and other modules
  • Circa 2-3 years experience as a Costing/Management Accountant in diverse working environments including E&P operations, projects, exploration, and manufacturing/production
  • Good working knowledge of Australian tax regime
  • Proven track record with Performance measurement techniques, business analysis; and working independently on assigned activities and coordinating work across offshore enabled teams

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:

  • Experience working closely with Financial or Joint Venture Accounting team
  • Experience working with offshore enabled management accounting teams in a global environment
  • Other relevant background, including positions in service, mining or energy companies
