The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Plant Inspection Engineer to join a leading, global operator based in Darwin, Australia. This role will see you conduct inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) activities for static equipment systems on their large scale LNG Facility and complete deliverables required to assure these activities. You will also provide advice to the Operations and Project teams on inspection issues.

On offer is a two year fixed term contract (with possible extension - leading to on-going work), working on the companies latest LNG mega project. This is a Darwin based position, office hours, Mon - Fri. The ideal candidate will already be based in Darwin or be willing to relocate on a permanent basis. Unfortunately FIFO is not an option for this specific vacancy.

Key responsibilities include:
* Liaise with Inspection Coordinator, Senior Inspectors, Maintenance Superintendent, Project Engineers, EPC Contractors and vendors as required.
* Execute IMR philosophies, strategies and plans for operate phase of project, including Base Line Inspections during construction phase, CP points, sparing strategy, repair plans, etc.
* Participate with Design and Safety Reviews, HAZOP, HAZIDs, FMECA, Risk Assessments, etc.
* Provide technical support, inspection services and monitoring during manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, testing and installation of static equipment to ensure delivery and on-going operations in-line with Operations goals and objectives.
* Assist with and/or develop specifications and procedures, where appropriate, for the onshore testing, load out, installation and commissioning of mechanical systems.
* Integrate new technologies and value improving practices where appropriate
* Assist the Senior Integrity and Maintenance Advisor in developing the integrity strategy and processes, assist the Inspection Planner in development of inspection plans.
* Ensure all inspection and assurance activities are scheduled with the work management systems.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
AICIP certified pressure vessel and static equipment inspector. ISI/SISI
Relevant mechanical trade qualification.
* More than ten years experience in operations such as installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of static systems including vessel inspection and corrosion .
* Familiar with all the mechanical interfaces associated with vessels, pipework, manifolds, structures and general equipment installation and operations.
* Working knowledge of industry standards related to mechanical systems, i.e., API and ISO standards.
* Proficiency in corrosion considerations, structural analysis.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Preferred: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. A minor in metallurgy or materials would be considered an advantage
