The Role:
Primary Objectives
* The highest Technical Authority for the Mechanical Rotating Equipment discipline across the Project and all future Client Australia projects, through all stages of the facilities including design, procurement, fabrication, construction, installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance and decommissioning.
* Set and maintain Standards and Specifications for the Mechanical Rotating Equipment discipline.
* Support the technical integrity management and assurance processes.
* Provide assurance to the Technical Director on the health of the Mechanical Rotating Equipment discipline across the Project and all future client Australia projects during all project stages.

* Company technical focal point for assurance, advice and support within their respective discipline.
* Support project and operations teams with resolution of technical issues either directly or by engaging 3rd parties as required.
* Custodian of relevant discipline Company engineering standards and specifications and ensures consistency in interpretation of these across the Projects and operating assets. Endorses standards and specifications for their discipline.
* Review and endorse technical deviations (TQDs) to company standards and specifications and national/international codes/standards that require TA-1 sign off within their respective discipline. Capture any required improvements/lessons to standards & specifications (including from TQD's) and include in future updates as required.
* Participate in the development and endorsement of MoC proposals. Reviews and endorses (from a technical perspective) MoCs that require TA-1 sign off within their respective discipline.
* Company representative for relevant technical matters with external bodies such as International/Australian Standards committees and Industry working groups and JIPs where they are considered to be the most appropriate Company representative. Maintains an Industry network in order to ensure ready access to high level expertise in all aspects of their respective discipline.
* Provision of expert discipline advice to Projects and Operations in connection with Legislative compliance and regulatory permits and approvals.
* Develop, maintain and approve the technical competency requirements of their respective discipline.
* Participate in the discipline and TA competency assessment of TA-2s for their discipline. Endorse and recommend the appointment of TA-2s to the line manager.
* Support the asset integrity management and assurance processes including:
o Endorse Asset Integrity Management Plans and Asset Integrity Assurance Plans, including Verification Check Plans for all projects and operating assets.
o Identify independent AI assurance activities
o Approve ToR for relevant AI assurance activities.
o Lead and/or participate in relevant AI assurance activities including assessment of MAE control measures (audits and reviews)
o Approve Safety Critical Element Operating Performance Standards.
* Technically endorses Basis of Design documents for their discipline.
* Where there is an approved business need, endorse the qualification plans for any new technology, endorse the outcomes and use of new technology.
* Approve SCE design and operating Performance Standards. Identify, monitor and document SCE performance indicators. Assure the implementation of these. Audit compliance with Performance Standards.
* Endorsement of and auditing of operating asset integrity management strategies and processes including RBI strategies, strategies for availability assurance and written schemes of examination. Custodian of engineering integrity computer models and control/use of versions.
* Approves selection of engineering software.
* Participate in technical incident investigations as defined in the Event Reporting and Investigation procedure.
* Participates in development and approves Approved Vendor Lists.
* Approves operating integrity envelopes and any deviations to envelopes for their discipline.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Principal engineer/discipline head level.
* Chartered/registered engineer or equivalent.
* >= 20 years relevant experience, with detailed knowledge of the Mechanical Rotating Equipment discipline within similar large scale Upstream (offshore) and Downstream LNG (onshore) Greenfield and Brownfield projects and operating assets.
* Significant experience working with an Operating company in both Project delivery and supporting operating assets.
* Proven competency track record.
* Fully conversant with Australian Codes and Standards, DNV, API and other internationally recognised Codes and Standards.
* Demonstrable experience in the concept selection, FEED, design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and operations of offshore/onshore rotating equipment including:
* Assessment and selection of optimum rotating equipment.
* Experience with all types of rotating equipment including gas turbine compressors, gas turbine generators, HP injection pumps, motor driven centrifugal and
