The Role:
Site based and typically works a 14 days on / 14 days off shift rotation. This role supports the Operations Team Leader in the delivery of HSSE objectives and Production targets in a reliable and cost efficient manner to support the business deliverables of the Area.

The Production Technician is expected to conduct routine operations in all areas of plant and utilities including basic troubleshooting, performing the start-up and shut down of non- critical equipment and understanding and applying the HSSE policy re: discharges, emissions etc.

This role demands a working knowledge of safety equipment on plant and the active promotion of the safety and wellbeing of all personnel on plant.

Key Accountabilities include:
*Demonstrate personal commitment to process and personal safety at all times, ensuring that BP HSSE and Operating Discipline expectations are met. Compliance with all process safety aspects of operations, including MOC, ORA, overrides etc as required, for all installation and maintenance work prior to operation.
*Comply with all aspects of the COW process
*Prepare process, utility, and energy isolations, perform integrity and pre start-up checks, process line-ups, and ensure site procedures are followed for operations, plant modifications and training. Prepare equipment for maintenance activities by ensuring a zero energy state, assist with repairs when required and safely return equipment to service when repairs are completed
*Maintain an awareness of the site major risks and ongoing operational risks
*Monitor and ensure that facility operations remain within the parameters stated in the Operations Manual or as required by the Site Supervisor. Control equipment and process, monitor events, materials and surroundings. Maintain accurate Station logs, reports, and handover reports of all activities.
*Optimise plant and equipment performance and where options for plant optimisation exist ensure they are raised with the site leadership and AEST team.
*identify CI opportunities and participate in root cause failure investigations as required.
*Maintain competence in accordance with CMAS standards
*Review work procedures as required ensuring accuracy of procedures used to operate plant and equipment
*Provide operations input to projects and TAR preparation as well as supporting vendors and visitors as required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
*Technicians Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrument, Process Plant Operations (PPO) or similar technical qualifications.
*At least 3 years' experience in the Petrochemical industry including experience in:
-routine ops in all areas of plant and utilities;
-start up and shut down of non-critical equipment; -knowledge of safety equipment on plant;
-promoting the safety and wellbeing of personnel on plant;
-basic troubleshooting; understanding the HSSE policy re: discharges, emissions etc
*Offshore experience
*Multidiscipline competence
