The Role:
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Supervision of work performed by "Formation Evaluation" contractors (Mud Logging Geologists, MWD/LWD Logging Engineers, Wireline Logging Engineers, pore pressure detection/ wellbore stability).
* Timely, clear, and accurate communications with the Wellsite Leader.
* Coaching of client Staff Wellsite Geologists
* Safety aspects for the well and personnel associated with formation evaluation operations.
* Quality control of all formation evaluation results and logs prior to accepting the data or logs from those contractors & before sending them to oil company offices.
* Well log correlation integrating log, image, cuttings lithology, cavings, MWD, and other operational data.
* Selection of casing, coring, TD and MDT/TesTrak Points based on well correlations.
* Real time interpretation of faults and calculation of incidence angles to wellbore from azimuthal density image logs.
* Monitoring and analyzing formation evaluation samples including cavings (and root cause of the cavings).
* Safe-guarding the collection, storage and transmission of geological and formation evaluation related information and reports.
* Preparation of daily geological reports, daily litholog and End of Well Report after drilling.
* Recommendations based on formation evaluation data including real time indications of pore pressure variation and wellbore instability.
* Ensuring that data (digital and hard copies) are transmitted to client's office/server on a timely basis.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* University degree in Geosciences.
* Minimum 7 years offshore drilling (wellsite) experience. Columbus Basin wellsite experience and experience with BP workflow a plus.
* Experience includes shallow hazards and mitigations, high angle development wells, and directional drilling.
* Working knowledge of pore pressure detection and real time wellbore instability.
* Working knowledge of operation and data quality from standard LWD tools (GR/R/N/D) and standard wireline tools (formation pressure and sampling, GR/R/N/D).
* Good communication skills - active listener, speaks and writes clearly, focused on the topic, concise. Interacts well with various personalities.
* HSE - High safety standards and behavior.
* Calm and clear thinking during times of high tension / stress.
* Team Player - Works for the success of the team not self.
* Timely - Delivers work on time, meets deadlines.
* Good data management and information technology skills - proficient basic Windows toolkit.
