The Role:
The Electrical Fitting Cell Leader is a key position within the manufacturing organisation and will be responsible for the planning, execution, performance and continuous improvement of the electrical fitting cells.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for day-to-day operational activities within your cell. You will have line management responsibility and will be directly engaged with your team to ensure an effective organisation with high productivity.

This role is multi-faceted as you will be responsible for oversight of safe delivery to time, cost and quality of your team while also being hands-on with the electrical fitting activities.

* Complies with company EHS rules and enforces a strong EHS culture within their team
* Ensuring that all electrical fitters understand and sign onto the relevant safe systems of work and risk assessments associated with the area and specific tasks.
* Inspect and test work at predefined stages and sign-off as correct to drawings.
* Inform the EC&I Engineers of any errors found or deviations from design required during build producing red-line mark ups.
* Produces all electrical route cards and MITP documentation to ensure that electrical works are done according to internal procedures and contract specific requirements.
* Manages workshop build space allocation, scheduling projects and prioritising work. Works with the EC&I engineering design team and the Production Control Manager to schedule projects and prioritise work.
* Be hands on with the electrical fitting activities alongside your electrical fitting team.
* Supervises all electrical contract works ensuring they are done in accordance with the build instructions and quality requirements.
* Assign and supervise, as appropriate, all internal electrical maintenance tasks
* Delivers toolbox talks and other regular communications to the team as required to improve communication and productivity
* Delivers daily stand up cell board meetings to ensure the Plan of the Day and Plan of the Week is clearly understood and communicated
* Time management of the cell operatives including shift arrangements, holidays, absences, day-to-day attendance, weekend working, overtime and timesheet submissions.
* Responsible for the development of their team including SQEP assessment, PDRs, mentoring and training needs analysis
* Performance management of the cell operatives, including giving clearly defined work instructions, providing feedback, appraising performance, dealing with issues and managing conflict.
* Routinely reviews the efficiency of tasks completed and utilisation of the cell and puts actions in place to maximise productivity
* Takes overall responsibility for NCRs and Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) in the cell
* Ensures that tools and equipment are properly maintained and consumables are available to carry out work in the cell.
* Works with the other cell leaders as part of the cell leader team to improve communication and interface issues between cells. Fosters a culture of continuous improvement within their team
* Ensures the company housekeeping standards are achieved through implementation of 5S techniques and processes. Attends regular production control meetings to report on the cell performance, including identifying action and recovery plans to improve performance levels.
* Controls operational expenditure (consumables, tools and other stock) within their cell and supports new capital expenditure projects as required
* Direct liaison with all other departments as necessary to complete assignments
