The Role:
The Company:

Our client is a specialist within the nuclear industry. Our client's focus is on providing nuclear clients with integrated solutions and long-term support spanning the full lifecycle.

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with Pro/E experience to work alongside a developing team working on nuclear design projects.

Role involves:

* 3D (Pro Engineer) Design on nuclear projects, e.g. mechanical/remote handling

* Ensuring that all work on a specific project being produced complies with the client design specification and relevant standards

* Ensure completeness of design packages presented to the Design Manager/Lead Engineer for comment, review, approval etc.

* Attend site surveys

* Interface with client on project related matters including Requests for Information, Technical Queries etc.

* Interface with other disciplines to ensure compliance with their requirements, equipment and service locations

The types of equipment this would be designing would be
Mechanical Handling
Special Purpose Machinery
Robotic Arms
Hoist, and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

* 3D design skills
* Experienced Pro Engineer user
* Experience in mechanical design
* Experience producing detail designs
* Some experience producing mechanical calculations
* Some experience producing mechanical documentation to support designs i.e. outline installation method statement, DJR, DAR, Design Risk Assessment, Technical Files
* Good communication skills
* HNC Mechanical Engineering (or related engineering discipline)

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:

* Some experience in research developing new equipment / machinery
* Some experience in coordinating design procedures
* Experience in FEA and the use of 'ANSYS' software
* Experience of design for nuclear sites/facilities
* Experience of working on projects for Sellafield site and conversant with design processes, procedures and standards
* Degree Qualified
* IEng or CEng accredited, or working towards either
