The Company:

The Role:

To provide appropriately Qualified Supervision of NDT and Weld Inspection Activity and assume responsibility for;
* The results of NDT operations
* Verification of visual acuity of NDT staff and contractors
* Ensuring that personnel hold valid certification relevant to their tasks within the organisation
* Establishing, reviewing for editorial and technical correctness and validation of NDT instructions and procedures

* Interpreting NDT codes, standards, specifications and procedures into NDT instructions adapted to the actual working conditions
* Designating the particular test methods, techniques and procedures to be used and define the limitations of application of the testing methods
* Setting up and verifying equipment settings
* Performing and directing NDT operations within scope of certification.
* Evaluating and interpret results in terms of existing standards, codes, and specifications;
* Maintaining sufficient practical knowledge of applicable materials, fabrication, process, and product technology to select NDT methods, establish NDT techniques, and assist in establishing acceptance criteria where none are otherwise available;
* Maintaining a general familiarity with other NDT methods.

Essential:
* Minimum HNC in a related subject e.g. materials or engineering
* Level 3 PCN qualification in indeally three if not four of the following areas;
* Visual Testing
* Liquid Penetrant Testing
* Magnetic Penetrant Testing
* Ultrasonic testing
* Level 2 qualification (PCNII/ CSWIP3.1) in Weld Inspection

Skills & Experience:
* 5 years minimum relevant industry experience from Nuclear/Aerospace/Defence/Oil & Gas Engineering Sectors
* Interpretation of complex detailed engineering drawings and associated specifications and standards
* Highly competent with MS Office applications

Desirable:
* Degree or Higher in a related subject
* Membership of Welding/NDT/Materials institutions
* Level 2 or higher Qualification in;
* Paint Inspection
* Radiographic Interpretation
* Auditing Skills
* Quality Management
* Problem Solving & Improvement e.g. 8D, DMAIC
