The Role:
Our client is currently looking to recruit a Principal EC & I Engineer on a permanent basis to conduct the following duties:

* Responsible to Head of Unit for the delivery of the Electrical, Control and Instrumentation work packages of high integrity and complex control systems to Customer and Industry Specifications.
* Delivery of technically compliant design deliverable in accordance with the Design Input Requirements within budget and programme constraints.
* Capable of leading a team of Design Engineers to deliver the appropriate solution from Front End Engineering to Detailed Design production.
* Provide the technical lead and direction to the engineering team
* Provide Engineering Support to manufacture right through to client handover.
* Interpretation of Design Input Requirements into fit for purpose solutions.
* Define budgets and schedule and ensure your team delivers on these budgeted cost and timescales
* Day to day management of your engineering team
* Supervision, verification and production of design deliverables
* Interface co-ordination with other engineering disciplines
* Implementation of UK H&S legislation and appropriate design standards
* Adherence to all company policies and procedures
* Identification and verification of bought out plant and equipment
* Presentation and/or participation at HAZOP and Design Reviews
* Production of key technical documentation including Electrical Schematics, General Arrangement Drawings, Cable Schedules and Calculations, Functional Design Specifications, Software Design Documentation, Technical file, O&M Manuals, Spares Lists, Test Documentation etc.
* Liaison with Manufacturing, Testing and Commissioning personnel to ensure design optimisation Initiation
and implementation of Design Change Control and Contract variation identification

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Electrical Engineering Degree Qualified (or Equivalent)
* Member of IET (Chartered Engineer status preferred)
* Extensive Engineering Workplace Experience
* Nuclear Industry Experience
* Management and control of Engineers and design teams
* Knowledge of Safety Standard IEC 61508 would be an advantage.
