The Role:
Our client is currently looking to recruit a Procurement Lead to be based from their offices in the Midlands to complete the following tasks, but not limited too:

Role:
Responsible for the Supply Chain for Projects within Waste Management and Decommissioning and Defence.
Management of Supply Chain budget for each supplier within each Project.
Key member of the integrated team, updating project plans with Procurement inputs, working closely with the Project team to ensure successful project delivery.
Identify VFM opportunities, negotiate the companies favourable terms with suppliers and manage through contract lifecycle.
Must represent the Procurement Department in an professional and ethical manner at all times

Key Activities:
o Identify critical/safety related long lead items, determine and ensure sufficient early supplier engagement to minimise downstream risks and recommend appropriate sub-contracting strategy where appropriate.
o Support strategic purchasing plans, ensuring supplier expectations are clearly defined and suppliers are committed to achieving goals and objectives in the areas of Quality, Cost Competitiveness (total delivered cost) and Delivery
o Work in a team environment with the Supply Chain Development/Quality Department in updating and identifying as to exactly what the Supply Chain Development Requirements are for all Procured project requirements.
o Monitor and review the trending of TQ's/Quality Documentation on a weekly basis to verify close out of queries/documentation requirements to and from the supply chain and report to Procurement Lead
o Identify and realise areas for cost downs to budget and lead time
o Accurate placement of PO's with associated flow downs terms
o Conduct market analysis and liaise with Supplier Management for new supplier introduction

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
o Minimum of 3 years in a purchasing position. Must be IT Literate
o MCIPS
o Preferably worked in an Engineering environment
o Strong communication skills both oral and written
o Diplomatic communication skills when interacting with various departments
o An understanding of Engineering Drawings
o Ability to liaise and co-operate with other departments
