The Role:
Position Description:
As part of the Programme Planning and Releasing team you will be responsible for on-going bill of material (BOM) auditing and maintenance for your product(s).
Using existing IT systems to identify potential issues, you will investigate and resolve BOM problems as required liaising with various other departments including Change Control, Engineering etc.
You will also respond to bill of material queries raised by other areas ensuring timely and accurate problem resolution.

Your key responsibilities will include :
Creating and maintaining BOM validation data in the corporate systems
Running error check reports on a daily basis
Investigating and resolving BOM concerns using a number of MP&L and engineering IT systems
Raising and progressing issues where Engineering action is required (via the corporate issue tracking system)
Responding to BOM queries from other areas
Setting up and maintaining pre-volume build event data

3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED:
1)Strong IT skills, able to interrogate systems as part of the problem investigation process
2)Logical and structured approach to problem investigation and resolution
3)Able to work accurately and with close attention to detail, good team player but also able to work using own initiative


Experience Required:

Experience Preferred:
Awareness of automotive / volume manufacturing type part numbers and bill of material structures
An understanding of bill of material related IT systems, possibly including MRP systems (e.g. SAP)
Familiar with investigating issues and resolving discrepancies in data across various IT system

Additional Information:
This role involves significant use of IT systems to identify bill of material problems and then ensure those problems are corrected ahead of vehicle manufacture, whilst automotive experience would be of benefit it is not essential as the nature of role suits people with a logical approach and a passion for ensuring that data is checked and correct.
The successful applicant will work within a team of 10 or so other BOM analysts with each analyst having specific vehicle line responsibilities but with the support of the wider team for training and complex problem resolution.
