The Role:
Position Description:
Prototype Management is split into two supporting roles Build Support and Fleet support.
This role is for the position of Build Support Engineer however the two roles are quite similar and there will be a crossover of both activities to support business needs.
The Build Support engineer supports the Vehicle Engineering teams by ensuring vehicles are built fit for purpose as defined by Vehicle Engineering.
The role entails commissioning , sign off , and handover of X1 / M1 and VP prototypes to Vehicle engineering customers whilst capturing all details of change and deviations to build via the E build book
This role would suit a self-starter, who is hands on with excellent product knowledge & possesses a can do attitude & willingness to learn.
This role interacts with the Vehicle Engineering, CoCs, PVO & Powertrain workshops.
There will also be close co-operation with the Fleet management and build engineering teams.

1. PC Literate in MS package
2. Good communications skills
3. Organised and methodical

Experience Required:
Excellent knowledge of vehicles & ability to diagnose vehicle issues
Self-starter with a can do attitude and a willingness to learn are just as important as relevant experience
Excellent motivational communication skills.
Ability to work with minimum supervision across different functions & sites
High level of drive and personal organisation.
Demonstrate good problem solving techniques
Excellent knowledge of Fleet Management Systems & Microsoft Applications

Experience Preferred:
Act as point of contact for Vehicle Engineering to enable timely handovers of vehicles to customers
Ensure that vehicles are handed over in a fit state for their intended purpose.
Lead the resolution of VoRs (Vehicle Off Road) by coordinating vehicle workshop & CoC fixers to ensure that vehicle downtime is minimised.
Monitor throughput of Prototype vehicles & call priorities on work in workshops where required.
Monitor day to day vehicle changes both via physical checks & electronic monitoring.
Work closely with the Fleet Concierge service.
Prepare weekly vehicle metrics & presentation to senior management

Additional Information:
Also to work closely with Fleet support engineers and Build program leaders
Understand as-built handover condition of donor vehicles prior to build
Understand build cadence and deviations that may have to bought off
Attend and support are we ready events Multiple locations: Whitley / Gaydon /B/lane / Solihull
