The Role:
Based in the Design Studio at Gaydon, you will work extensively with cross-functional teams including Design, Vehicle Packaging, Engineering Centres of Competence, Research and Vehicle Programme. You will support the Human Factors/HMI Attribute team to ensure targets and requirements are met across a series of vehicle development programmes. You will cover all aspects of human factors, relating to customer experience of the vehicle, including physical and cognitive ergonomics, user interface and new feature development.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with evaluation of attribute targets and requirements across multiple programmes
- Support issue identification, documentation, collaboration and resolutions
- Be involved with quality analysis to create AVA/CAD models to enable better new vehicle customer satisfaction prediction
- Champion CAD methodology and linkage to design rules and standards
- Develop methodologies to enable faster target verification and highlight trends across all vehicles
- Provide design problem solving to the team for programme issues
- Support PAT Leaders in Design feasibility reviews
- Be responsible for the introduction of new CAD techniques including AVA
- Be part of wider team to ensure the occupant and their requirements are modelled and populated at the earliest phase of programmes
- Support the development of new customer feature User Intelligence and Features

Skills Required:
1. Working knowledge of Catia V5/6 software and AVA tools for design and packaging work along with a passion for the automotive industry and have whole vehicle automotive engineering and design knowledge
2. Good working knowledge of IT systems and ideally be educated to degree level in Engineering
3. Ability to produce formal documentation to a professional standard
4. Ability to manage projects and deliver to short timescales & deadlines

Experience Required:
Catia V5 essential, with also V6 trained (or willing to learning V6)

Additional Information:
Human Factors / Ergonomics role within Vehicle design environment. Awareness of product development process including Design for Manufacture Familiarity with Premium automotive sector, products and features. This role is based at Gaydon, but may require some working at Whitley.
