The Role:

"The Brakes Refinement Engineer will work within the Brakes Refinement Team assisting in target setting and vehicle tuning to meet performance targets for the brake refinement attribute for vehicles. Using industry standard NVH measurement systems for on-vehicle and test rig acoustic analysis. Benchmark competitor vehicles, including development of any new tests required to characterise the refinement attributes of the brake system. Assist in the development of modelling techniques for early identification of Brake refinement issues. Ensure that new Chassis & Brake designs are compatible with brake refinement targets. Participate in CAE, Brakes Dynamometer and early prototype vehicle pre-development loops to install refinement counter-measures before the main prototype build phases. Work closely with other teams, especially within Chassis Engineering to identify cost effective solutions to any Brake refinement issues. "

3 KEY SKILLS
Foundation skills in Noise and Vibration engineering
Engineering degree
Full UK Cat B Driving Licence

Experience Required: Degree in Acoustics, Mechanical or Automotive Engineering demonstrating a bias towards Acoustics Practical experience in engineering test and development

Experience Preferred: An understanding of automotive chassis systems. Knowledge of automotive brake system design and the ability to identify the specifications that influence Braking attributes including performance and refinement. Experience in the use of industry standard NVH measurement systems for data collection and analysis (e.g. LMS, Test.lab, HEAD Artemis, Link.) Experience in the use of 6-sigma disciplines

Additional Information : The role is based at Gaydon. Candidates will be expected to support vehicle testing at various locations generally within the UK and mainland Europe.
