The Role:
Position Description:
Designing, Developing and Delivering new luxury vehicles to an ever changing automotive market place is an exciting and challenging business to be involved in, Network Architecture is one of the key cornerstones to delivering these products.
Within the Programme architecture team you will gain knowledge of all electronic systems across the fleet.
The Programme architecture team document the network architecture for all vehicles, this document contains the technical assumptions for the programme detailing all changes being introduced. This document is kept updated and delivered at key gateways to various teams around the business for designing, sourcing and testing of new vehicles.
Communication is key within the Architecture area with interactions to the whole of the electrical department as well as Chassis, Body and Powertrain allowing an understanding of the vehicle system interactions.
The successful applicant will be responsible for leading a Vehicle Platform, managing the collation of technical assumptions in the initial stages of a vehicle programme and following them through delivery to launch.

Key responsibilities include the following:
Lead Programme Architecture projects from design to delivery
Facilitate meetings between stakeholders to iterate proposed Architectures to an agreed solution
Support System Designs ensuring they are optimised for a Cross Carline application, rather than individual vehicles
Liaise with Electrical Technical Leads and SMEs to ensure all proposed Programme Architectures are feasible
Develop Vehicle Architectures that are `protected┬┐ for known future extensions and/or related features/systems changes
Develop Vehicle Architectures that are compatible with System and Commodity Strategies
Aid the design of a vehicle architecture and provide feedback to programme delivery to maintain a cross-carline architecture design
Create Network Architecture Diagrams of new Vehicle programmes using PREEvision/Visio
Present Architecture Designs at technical reviews as required
Ensure the robust hand-over of Programme Architecture Designs to delivery stakeholders, and continue to provide Electrical Architecture support throughout delivery
Audit EDS circuit designs and connections against the proposed Network Architecture Diagram and Networks Standards

Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Exceptional communication skills, a willingness to learn and naturally inquisitive
Self-motivated, enthusiastic, pro-active, demonstrates initiative, with ability to work with minimum supervision.
Ability to manage and prioritise workload and time in a dynamic environment
Ability to challenge established thinking and ways of working in the pursuit of continuous improvement
Basic knowledge of distributed electrical systems and software
Experience in developing new processes and procedures to improve quality and delivery.
Able to demonstrate good a track record of successful project delivery
Flexibility to work across other sites as required .

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
PC literate, especially MS office
Effective written and spoken communicator including Presentation skills
Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems
