The Role:
Position Description:

Concept Engineer - POWERTRAIN PRE KO - CONCEPT LEADER.

This department functions across all hardware and attribute disciplines within Powertrain. The Concept Leader part of the PSTI Team is the interface between the 10 PT Systems and the pre KO Concept team, with regard to boundary condition requirements and attributes convergence of Powertrain system, up to Vehicle Kick Off. The Concept Leader will generate and own CAD data and the PT Brochure for each program in its pre KO phase; to be successful in this role, you will have to: - Set the base installation for engine, transmission, propulsion unit & driveline in new vehicles. Share and agree these conditions with Vehicle Package and publish them. - Create conceptual application installations for air induction, exhaust, fuels, cooling, power-supply and energy storage - Influence vehicle proportions to enable powertrain propulsion strategy roll-out - Seek to deliver ¿balanced¿ attributes across all powertrain systems When creating package proposals, you will be expected to: -Establish key information and boundary conditions -Communicate your work to customers & stakeholders -Present your findings .

3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED:

1) Strong understanding of attributes interaction and system engineering on Powertrain Performance. Must be able to identify, explain and apply the benefits of System Engineering.

2) Familiarity with vehicle installation requirements & proven delivery of at least one of the ten Powertrain systems. Proven capability of working across multiple PT disciplines in a rapidly changing environment with conflicting demands across a wide range of commodities.

3)Must be proficient with Catia V5 Excel and PowerPoint.

Experience Required:

A minimum of 5 years experience in Automotive Engineering. Previous experience in Powertrain is preferred. Preferably degree qualified but not essential.

Experience Preferred:

Good understanding of attributes interaction and system engineering on Powertrain Performance. Previous development experience of a Powertrain System. Good communication, interpersonal skills, self-confidence and a passion for technology

Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.
