The Role:
Position Description:

cockpit 'lead' engineer on a make to print /in-house project Instrument Panel Lead Engineer Project is planned to be an in-sourced engineering programme - requiring high levels of technical knowledge as well as managerial expertise.

Key Performance Indicators:

Ability to demonstrate good knowledge of Cockpit system design, function and performance. Ability to demonstrate experience of Cockpit system component production and manufacturing technologies. Proven Project management capability demonstrated by recent delivery to cost, quality and timing targets. Excellent communication skills. With evidence of ability to communicate at all levels. CAD capability desirable (Catia V5 / V6) and ability to use associated visualisation tools. Significant experience in use of engineering tools including FMEA, Six Sigma problem resolution etc. Strong PC literacy including Microsoft project, Power point, Excel, Word etc.


1. Previous experience of leading the resolution of business, technical and process issues within a Project Team environment

2. A good working knowledge of product creation & delivery, change control, product definition and change management processes

Experience Required:

5 years cockpit lead engineer

Experience Preferred:

Previous experience within engineering or programme planning departments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong influencing and engagement skills. Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred.

Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.
