The Role:
Position Description:

Engineered to Order (SVO) Division operates as a business within the business, set up with a nimble/commercially minded outlook to leverage the increasing desire of our customers to personalise their vehicles.

Key strategy elements include:

Push the boundaries of the Brands to create high premium Niche Halo. Performance & Luxury vehicles. Develop a range of Option Packs to enhance the Sporting and Lifestyle attributes of our vehicle range. Enhance premium customer experience through vehicle personalisation and exclusivity. Design and develop profitable range of vehicle accessories The role reports the Platform Project Leader. ¿ Provides a single point of contact per platform for SVO Engineering to enable face off to SVO Programme team, NML, VLDs, CPEs etc, to enable the facilitation of SVO features and lowest cost and highest quality

Lead the Engineering delivery on all SVO projects on a specific Platform, liaising with the functional managers (chassis , body , powertrain electrical), on programmes in the pre- phase through to job 1 + 90. Lead SVO Engineering PDL responses, liaise/ negotiate with core on ownership, develop tech feas ( with APC ), drive design feas (DPAT ), co-ordinate project resources. Liaise with core CoCs to ensure platform architecture and systems are specified, agreed and capable of delivering SVO features for products like RS, Autobiography, accessories. Support SVO Engineering launch support and support NML as required. Drive/ Support Engineering team on delivery, timing, cost, AIMs, concerns, quality etc. Drive SVO innovation projects into delivery, on a specific platform. Drive SVO Engineering process improvement, and platform strategy.

3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED:

1. Knowledge of general engineering principles relevant to the design, development, testing and manufacture of technically engineered products.

2. MS Office and PC literate

3. Excellent communication skills: Ability to negotiate with other functions to achieve, for example, attribute objectives and resolve engineering issues/conflict.

Experience Required:

Engineering Degree. We will consider candidates with no prior experience working in the automotive industry. Working knowledge of the design and development of new automotive products. Working knowledge of project planning tools eg MS Project Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly tooling methods and lead-times. Working knowledge of materials used in modern vehicles ( eg. plastics, metals, composites and paint).

Experience Preferred:

It is anticipated candidates with be educated to Degree Level in a relevant engineering or science based subject, or HNC/ HND with significant experience.
