The Role:
Position Description:

We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and proactive engineer to join our base engine development and design validation (DV) team to work on the new wave of high performance Ingenium gasoline and diesel engines. The DV team is responsible for the mechanical development, performance & functional verification, and durability sign off of prototype engines in support of the design verification plan (DVP). The role is critical to ensure the success of current programmes by delivering high quality testing, development activities and issue resolution, and as such requires project management skills, a solid technical background in engine development and/or calibration, excellent communication skills and a proven track record in delivery.

3 key skills required:

1. Must be able to plan and execute engine dyno based engine tests (requires detailed understanding of engine and test technology).

2. Data analysis skills - Must be able to assess and process test data in order to validate test, solve complex issues and able to compose high quality technical reports and data presentations.

3. Excellent communication skills are essential, must be fluent in English, and capable of clear and concise written and verbal communication using technical language to ensure clear and efficient communications between all stakeholders.

Experience Required:

Must have good working knowledge of IC engine components and systems. Must have experience within engine product development or research environment. Must have experience of dyno/rig-based testing of engines and/or components. Must have higher education in related engineering discipline and can demonstrate effective application of first principles. Must hold full & valid driving licence for UK and European use and can demonstrate driving skills that meet the company standard to enable use of high performance company vehicles (including prototypes and test fleet). Fluent in English and can communicate effectively verbally & written.

Experience Preferred:

Preferably degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical or Automotive Engineering. Experience with calibration and control systems Experience with gasoline and diesel IC engines Experience with hybrid powertrain technology (MHEV/PHEV) Previous experience of problem solving and quality tools (8D, Ishikawa, and IS/IS NOT etc.) Experience of working with engineering/test suppliers in both the UK and Europe Experience in technical report writing.
