The Role:
PURPOSE:
Provide strategic direction and technical input for financial reporting and tax management and continuously developing the resources for technical capabilities and leadership development.

REPORTS TO: Vice President, Finance

DIMENSIONS (Financial and Organisation Perspective)
Financial Perspective:
 Group Revenue : Approx. USD2.5 billion per annum

Organisation Perspective:
 No. of Direct Report: 1 Head (GM) & 1 Head (SM).

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Budgeting Framework, Policies, Procedures and tools
- Strategise the long term business plan and resource allocation via the formulation and development of a robust and integrated Budgeting and Performance Review framework, policies, procedures and tools to support the Group's business growth and operational needs. Provide a trigger mechanism for the management decision making on Business Units performance and key issues with Value At Risk via continuous Year End Projection.

Financial Reporting and Performance Review
- Responsible for the finalisation of the Group's consolidated financial statements to support strategic decision making whilst adherence to prevailing accounting, statutory reporting and disclosure. Responsible for the submission of the financial reports to relevant authorities namely Bursa Malaysia and Securities Commission. Continuous improvement of processes and system to create transparency in the Group performance and assist the business in making an informed decision.

Taxation
- Strategise/lead and drive the tax planning/optimisation and tax compliance for all tax related matters (inclusive of direct tax and indirect tax) to minimise tax liabilities and exposure in line with the Group aspiration.

Governance
- Responsible for ensuring the management of Limit of Authority manual is able to support the business change and custodian for the Financial Control Framework for the Group.

Credit Ratings Review
- Strategise and manage the reporting requirement for the Annual Rating Review exercise with Moody's, S&P and MARC or relevant organisation to achieve the best credit rating for the company.

Corporate Exercises/ Special Projects
- Formulate, design and drive Finance special projects to enhance Finance services to better serve the Group of Companies' requirements and alignment of processes and procedures for the Group.

Leadership Development
- Inspire the ready pool of capable and competent Group Accounting and Reporting professionals to develop beyond their current capacity and to best support the Group's business growth and operational needs.

Continuous Improvement
- Steer the team from resources and mindset perspective in moving towards continuous improvement that will ultimately make the task and deliverables to be more effective and efficient.

KEY CHALLENGES:
- Continuously changing accounting standards and tight timeline of reporting with large numbers of subsidiaries and associates.
- New tax changes and to develop tax knowledge for the country areas where the Group will be interested to venture into.
- Diversity of location and time zone of the Group.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

 Finance Heads within the Group
 Auditors, Tax authorities

EXPERIENCE:
At least 15 - 20 years of relevant working experience, preferably worked in Principal O&G companies before.
Exposure in senior managerial capacity/position and possess a working appreciation of the role and orientation of the top management

QUALIFICATION:
Degree in Accounting/Finance/ Business or equivalent, with accounting/finance background and/or working knowledge in Finance/Financial Reporting; and
Professional accounting qualification
