The Role:
Location: San Antonio, TX
Contract: 11 months

Summary: The Data Center Technician is responsible for daily operations of the San Antonio Data Center located in San Antonio, TX.

Notes from the manager: This role is open due to a backfill. This resource will be a Data Center Technician sitting in San Antonio, TX. Working on a team of seven Data Center Technicians. Will support all of the organization and interacting with local data center staff daily. Also, will interact with the application support groups that are responsible for creating the work tickets. This resource will not be interacting with the end users. This position requires any equipment to be installed within the data center including network switches, computer servers, etc.

Top Requirements:
* Knowledge in Office365
* Solid IT Troubleshooting
* Familiarity with servers - Virtual, blade and physical
* Familiarity with network principles
* Must have precise/ keen attention to detail
* Enterprise Data Center Experience.
* Communication skills are very important- this individual will communicate by email, phone, and instant messaging mostly.

Preferred:
* Experience with HP DL380, HP C7000 Blade Servers, and Generation 8, 9 & 10
* Experience with Cisco Hyperflex & Azure, networks, NetAPP, and Hitachi storage
* Experience with SuperMicro servers with GPU add-on cards
* Working knowledge and hands on experience in network structured cabling installation, patch management and circuit tracing
* Knowledge in DCIM- data center information management is strongly preferred with some type of experience in an inventory management system
* Troubleshooting knowledge and background in hardware overall
* Experience with installing operating systems
* Client experience in the past is a plus

Education:
* Bachelors or Associates Degree - MIS, Information Technology, or Computer Science preferred
* IT/Server Military experience would be a plus


Responsibilities:
* The person in this role is expected to rigorously follow accepted Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), client Data Center Standards and Business Continuity Plan (BCP).
* Complete Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) information to ensure 100% point-in-time accuracy of all DC Assets.
* Work in partnership within NADC with the BGIS team to coordinate preventative maintenance on ITC owned systems which support the data center.
* Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, corporate policies and procedures including Information Protection (IP) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance
* Day to day responsibilities include: Monitoring Remedy Ticketing system and completing requests within prescribed SLA, installing hardware, servers, network equipment, building up server racks, installing electrical power distribution units, installing components and side servers (memory swaps), and troubleshooting network infrastructure.

Please be aware of the following shift schedule:
* Training period will be for the first 4 to 6 weeks. The training will include a thorough walk through period with shadowing a senior level technician for each day.
* Regular shift will be a 4/10 week period with minimum overtime
Wednesday/Thursday - 10 PM - 6:30 AM CST; Friday/Saturday - 10 PM - 10 AM CST.
Self-guided, independent work shift
* Person filling position will need to be flexible in schedule to cover other shifts as needed for vacations, sick, travel, etc.
* Limited travel may be required for this position.
