The Company:
Fircroft are currently working in collaboration with a leader in the design, build and installation of turnkey electrical systems and services. The company supply power and automation technologies in to the transmission, distribution, rail and renewables industries that enable their customers to improve performance while lowering environmental impact. The Role:
Reporting to directly to senior management, this person with be responsible for technical and commercial bid preparation, production and submission across all business units ensuring alignment with the company's standards and targets. On a daily basis the Bid Manager will manage assigned EPC resources and work with a global team ( Sales Team, Account Managers, Business Development Manager) to prepare and submit bids and proposals.


* Work in line with the implementation of EPC, EMEA, Marketing and Sales order capture strategy.
* Provides support to the Sales & Marketing Manager with their representations to the functional team at EPC and EMEA Management team meetings.
* Ensures (with Sales & Marketing Manager support) that any direct reports assigned to them are properly coached, motivated and developed towards a future role as a Bid Manager.
* Ensure group Tender Risk Review processes are strictly implemented and adhered to for tenders under their control.
* Implement tender screening process for all opportunities through gate 1 and 2 stages via the sales database.
* Review Enquiry Documentation and agree/implement an "order winning strategy" and local capture team appointments.
* Support the Sales & Marketing Manager in hitting bid production budgets and delivering efficiencies whilst maintaining the highest standards in bid submissions.
* Ensure that the Prosales database is kept accurate & maintained for relevant tenders, ensuring the opportunity status is regularly updated.
* Review and approve bid documentation, including cost summary/precalc sheets, risk assessments and bid documentation to meet customer deadlines

The Person
As Bid Manager this person must have a high level of organisation and commercial acumen and be comfortable negotiating technically complex bids ranging in value from £0.5m - £10m.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Senior Professional, experience in leading bid / tendering capture teams on complex, multi-Million GBP Tenders.
* Some Sales and Marketing exposure / experience
* Sound communication, presentation and negotiation skills
* Self-Motivation / Self-Direction
* Competent MS Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
* Full and Valid Driving License.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Power Industry experience in transmission, distribution, rail or renewables
